Hiya - Came off the pill Jan 2012, Trying since - Trying REALLY hard this year. Not hard enough, i would guess...

Haven't been to GP - already have DS aged nearly 9 years (although DH is not biological dad so his "first time") So not much they will do i dont think. :o

*Just wanted to add, I know others have been trying longer.... I just dont know if personally i can keep going. Much respect to those who do though of course xx

I think you should go anyway. The fact that you already have a son will only exclude you from IVF funding I think. Its worth having the blood tests to check you do actually ov and they will prescribe clomid and do a SA on your DH. Worth doing just to check if there's a problem.

Thanks for your reply, if you don't mind me asking (and if you do please feel free to ignore me!) is that because it's uncomfortable? A bit inconvenient/ messy? Or you just find it a bit weird or gross?

Hiya, id just feel it was messy/ dirty but thats just us - dont mean we are right x

  • Thanks those who responded to my post, I feel like less of a freak now! I'm deffo going to steal your idea Laila and do it in the shower!

Sorry you're in pain code hope it improves and work gets less sucky for you.

Hugs bigmomma might be a good idea to visit the GP anyway, hopefully they can do some tests for you even if they can't offer treatment.
  • Good evening all! Wow!, HUGE congratulations Mrs TM, absolutely thrilled for you.
Sorry if I've missed anyone else. Massive thanks to Code for the lists. I am now CD1 (and if I'm completely honest struggling a little to type due to having knocked back a couple of large glasses of red!). Had a tough day. Went for a lovely walk with DH earlier, but now it's all got a bit on top of me and all he can seem to do is watch the football :-( All I want is a bit of TLC. Enough with the self pity. I will kick myself swiftly up the backside. Lol.
    Love to all. X

Nothing new to report. Waiting for a positive OPK and then will step up the baby dancing but that wont be for a while judging by the last few months.

Went out with my DH, Best Friend and her boyfriend for a meal tonight which was lovely. She is 35 weeks PG. They conceived very quickly. Lucky them. Its her baby shower on Sunday. I drank a whole bottle of fizz and left with a free bottle of wine! Oh well, I have lots to look forward to, a Halloween party and hopefully a week away in November.

    Hugs to you all.

  • gonna start using ovulation kits this month, just wondered what everyone uses? was going to buy the eBay cheapies but then I saw this http://m.boots.com/mt/www.boots.com/en/Boots-Pharmaceuticals-ovulation-test-kit-20-tests-One-month-supply_1213076/ which says you don't have to work out what day to start testing on which appeals to me, but is that just because there's more tests in it?

Yes. Don't waste your money on those if you want to spend that much buy the clear blue advanced ones off Amazon, which give you a high & a peak reading on smiley faces no interpreting lines. If you're ok with lines buy the cheap ones from home health for a couple of quid. Those boots one are a right rip off I had to delurk to save you the money!!
