Tinks - sorry to hear you are feeling down :( Glad the ball is rolling with the docs tho - will keep my fingers crossed for you xx

SB and anyone else it might help - OPKs are best done in the afternoon/evening after 'limiting' drinking before hand. Not an issue for me as I don't drink loads anyway - but if your wee is really dilute then its hard to pick up on a surge. I did a IC test every day and labelled them to see the surge. My bathroom often had to be reorganised before visitors came as I kept them on the windowsill

This is a classic kind of pattern that you will see, and obviously the bottom one is positive:

In the pic below, I thought I had ov'd as there were a few I thought 'could' be positive - but I hadn't ov'd at this point. I stopped testing here and thought I was in the 2ww and didn't BD, and in actual fact I ov'd the week after or something as my LP didn't work out right (also wasted a LOT of HPTs thinking I must defo be pregnant as I thought AF was late...)

And on this photo below I went straight from faint line to +ve really quickly:

So as you can see - theres no definite thing that will happen with your OPKs. Just keep testing daily at around the same time, and have faith that it will happen. You will see a +ve test when you get one. It just sucks to wait for one sometimes :o As always, it doesn't hurt to BD so if you are both willing just go for it anyways ;)

I just thought I would bump this post up at I think its very helpful for those who use opks.

COngrats Credit crunch- looks like a bfp to me!!

    Hugs to those on cd1/2

Daisie- my original ttc plan was to have three- four months (taking me to Dec) of not tracking my cycle etc as I know I would start to obsess/ worry if things dont go as they should- as it turns out Ive had no chance of doing that anyway as I am still on the first cycle after coming off the pill. What I guess Im trying to say is its still early days for you so do try and not worry yet. (hugs)

Thanks for the welcome Shrimpy Part Mouse.

Congratulations to Purcy, Disney and Credit Crunch.

Thanks to Kellykins for doing the lists and adding me on.

I'm trying not to stress DH out too much by talking about babies and conceiving with him so hoping that by coming on here I'll be a little bit more zen about it lol. At the moment I'm just using an app to track ovulation and periods as I was on the pill for 16ish years and didn't know my cycles. I'm still learning about my body too and what to expect when coming on. I will never be going back on the pill that's for sure.

I'm hoping that my age won't go against me but have already decided if nothing happens I'll be going to the doctors in May.

Seems weird but joining in with you makes it seem more real :-D.

Daisiegg - I just wanted to add my bit, I've been trying to conceive since sept 12 with a mmc in may. To begin with we just had sex often and tracked it in my diary. I then downloaded an app as its just a bit easier to see a month in one go.

Since the MMC, I have been obsessed with getting pregnant. Putting pressure on myself and DH to dtd even when we have been unwell/tired etc. I have been crying every time AF showed up and during the rest of the month. I was crying on the drive to work, at work, at home etc. I'm a mess and it is affecting my work and home life.

I went to my doctor last month, just before I joined this thread and had a breakdown in the surgery. He basically said stop stressing and relax. If nothing has happened in the new year we will start the ball rolling. As everyone else has said if you have regular periods then you 'should' be ovulating.

What I'm trying to say in a long about way is don't turn into me. I know its easy said than done, but its really not a fun way to live.

On a more positive note, last month I didn't track, just relaxed and although I didn't get a BFP, today on CD4 I feel happy.

    Sorry for the long post
  • thanks again to everyone & this is the last photo from me I promise!
I hope this will be a forever baby but I am being very cautious & trying not to think about it too much, just to be on the safe side.
I was hoping i might get a scan this side of christmas but will know soon enough

this time, i didnt bd until the day after a + ov test & then again just the day after as well. I was so fed up with it taking so long to fall PG after a miscarriage, and I knew that my original due date was approaching. I am the worlds biggest worrier but I really tried not to even think about TTC, other than doing ovulation tests. I even stopped taking folic acid on a daily basis!
We also didnt use conceive plus this time, so maybe that made a difference! Also every other month I symptom spot but i hadnt started that yet! I was walking to walk & a huge wave of nausea came over me! I googled how early can morning sickness start but the google answer was 6 weeks so it put being pregnant to the back of my mind!

    Congrats Credit!
Loving all the BFP's at the moment!!

Dasie try not to stress over it, you have only just started so should be no reason not to ovulate.
I sometimes get a bit lazy...forgot to do them over the weekend because I can't stick to not drinking or going to the toilet a few hours before like I can when I've been at work. Remember things like that can affect whether they work or not - also you are supposed to do them the same time each day - again I noticed they seem to show more of a line when I do them mid afternoon than later (though because I don't do it at work, I often do pointless tests in the evening that show nothing!!).
  • last cycle i did 2 ov tests each day - one in the morning (first wee) and one as soon as i got home from work (6pm ish)
i taped them to a piece of white card & wrote cd10 or whatever & whether it was am or pm.
my cycles range from 25 to 32 days so i could never been certain about dates. i also never took my temp as i thought that would be an added stress / hassle that i didnt need
  • Could I be updated to CD1 please :(

Looks like I'm going to have to renew my membership on FF, funny when I signed up I thought oh I don't know whether I should, I'll probably be pregnant after a couple of months and will have paid for a year for nothing :o

I think I'm going to admit defeat and find the thread for those struggling to TTC and say hello :(

  • Sorry for cd1 chocoholic - do you find the full FF membership helpful? I've thought about it but haven't done anything about it yet.

Also does anyone use cbfm and missed the 3hr window? If so what does it do - think I missed yesterday and got the same status as the previous day does this sound right?
