Congratulations ladies 😄 so chuffed for you all!

Can I please be changed to CD3?

Don't know what the hell happened this month, 6 days late :s. Got my hopes up for nothing lol! I now have a situation where the 2 apps I have on my phone are showing different ovulation days. I haven't used the ov tests yet & am not really sure how to. Any advice/recommendations would be great. Roughly how long after period starts do you ov?

    Hugs & baby dust

    Congratulations credit crunch! :D

Well, colour me confused :( can anyone help with a question?

As I said yesterday, my opk tests have been getting darker all week. Excellent, I thought, and was expecting a positive today. However, just did today's, and - fainter again. WHAT? What could that mean?

Haven't had any ewcm or temp changes.

Anyone got any idea why it would get darker all week and suddenly go very faint again? I was getting really excited thinking I was going to ov :(

Could today's wee have been less concentrated than yesterdays? If you've not had any temp changes or ewcm then you haven't ovulated yet.

Nah it was about the same colour (lol nice I know!) and taken at the same time, both days after 2 hours of not drinking anything.

Poooo don't know what is going on. Maybe my fears that I do not ovulate are coming true :( can you get periods without ovulating?

I'm about to say the most infuriating thing ever to you. Just relax and stop worrying. (You may now scream!!). The reason I say this is that the biggest barrier to ovulation is worrying that you're not ovulating. I've been there and I know that worrying made it so much worse.

If you weren't ovulating, you wouldn't have regular periods, so it may be that your luteal phase is more than 14 days, or that you're close to ovulation and just not there yet. Just out of interest what brand of opks are you using?

Even if it turns out that you're not ovulating, it's not the end of the world. They have various methods of inducing ovulation from soy, agnus castus, maca etc to clomid (my doctor told me I could have 20 babies - obv this was before we knew DH has no sperm).

There are loads of things that can delay or change ovulation patterns such as moonphases (you can do lunaception and use this to your advantage), changes to daylight hours, and stress.

My advice is to keep going with the opks, monitoring your cm and temping, and to try to stop worrying about it. The statistics are on your side and I'm confident you'll get your BFP before too long.

Thank you....I know you are right :o I am almost wondering if I should just stop temping and doing OPKs for a couple of months and stop overthinking/stressing - and then maybe start doing all that if it doesn't happen in the next couple of months. I doubt I will be able to stop now that I have started though!

I am using Boots own brand OPKs. I had cheapie ones from Amazon but I found them really stressful as I couldn't even figure out where the line I was meant to be seeing was meant to be :o I can tell the Boots ones are just exactly the same thing but encased in plastic and with little windows where the toe lines should be - it is silly but I find them easier to use even though I know they are just the same thing!

Thanks very much for replying to my message x

    Oh daisyegg... big hugs..

i can see this must be really frustrating for you. if its any consolation - OPKS can change to being a faint line to nothing. sometimes my OPKS catch me by surprise - it'll be a faint line - then nothing for a few days and then suddenly it will be a positive. In the end i bought a clear blue fertility monitor - that way i can never be left confused.the down side obviously is the expense. ( i still use some cheap OPKs with this - because im a crazy TTC lady!)

Hugs to loudfish also - 6 days late - i would have had everything crossed too. :(

Hi there - my twopenethworth on opks. I'd been using some from home bargains (5 for £3 ) and usually got a near-enough line (along with 21 day bloods which confirmed I was ovulating). I've switched to Internet cheapies and have seen no line at all - I'm on cd15 and have usually ovulated by now. I've decided that unless I was to use those super devices that are a few hundred ££s (can't remember what they're called), I'm not going to get too hung up on it all and just keep having sex and hope for the best.

Daisiegg - if you're stressing is it worth a trip to the gp to say that you're trying but not sure if you're ovulating and ask for the 21 day bloods? That should reassure you, or if for some reason you're not ovulating will start the ball rolling on treatment to kick start it (that's what I did).
