How much for AA renewal?!
I know this will probably be merged with the other AA threads, but I still can't believe our renewal cost this year.
If I was a new customer it would be £109. But because I've been with them for nearly 15 years I get to pay £183. That's £74 extra for being a loyal customer.
I think we'll be cancelling and going eslewhere. And having read some other threads we will be asking for written conformation that they've cancelled!!

Call them, say you are leaving and they will better (or at least match) the online, new customer price.
I do it every year.0 -
I did a quick comparison the other day
RAC recovery is £64.50 less £15 thru TCB
AA £79 less £20 TCB
for new customers0 -
The AA tried this on with me d3 years ago asking a renewal premium of £144. I phoned and told them this was too much and they immediately said they would do it for £72. This did not inclue European cover and they could not tell me how much this would be (depended on length of trip etc). I told them that I had a quote from Quoteline Direct (at the time MSE's best buy) for £59 including European cover. I have now renewed for a fourth year with Quoteline Direct and it is still £59. I have called them out to breakdowns three times in the last three years and each time they have got a garage out quickly and service has been excellent.
The AA is not what it once was as it is now a private equity owned organisation which exists solely to fleece regular customers.0 -

I only stick with them because their techs are actually very good. Found the ones that use local garages can be rather hit and miss on knowhow as they do no have access to the databases in their vans.0 -
The AA & RAC are like insurance companies
They try and rob loyal customers who auto accept renewal notices. Phone up and they will drop the price0 -
Do it via Quidco and get cashback0

If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5?

I have just left AA due to their price hikes. I will not play their games, if they are too expensive I'm not going to beg, I've just gone elsewhere.0

I did a few months ago with the AA, renewal was £139 which apparently had a discount already applied for no call out. Once I'd said I was leaving because it was too much they dropped it to £90, which was still more than the price for a new customer via their own website, but they wouldn't budge. Tried to get RAC to knock £20 off their new member price but they wouldn't reduce it either, saying "its already discounted", so applied via Top Cashback and eventually got £19.19 cashback. Think I got it for something like £50 in the end.0
