Effect of 'alternative fuel' system on value of my property?
Comments

Not really anything to do with how eco-friendly it is though. It's a personal choice whether someone wants to burn something which isn't pumped into their house by some company or other.
How happy would you be if I installed a tyre burning stove and pumped the fumes around your house?
That's and extreme and unrealistic scenario, but I think it illustrates a point.0 -
Sounds to me like you have alreaded decided on what you want to do, and because forum members are not choosing the option you wanted them to, you are getting shirty about it.
Don't want people giving you their opinion? Fine, don't ask them for it on a public forum.
Why don't you just do what you want to do?
Question:So, do the people that come to value the house value based on boilers being installed, or do they value based on the fact that there is a heating source?
'Answer':Burning wood is greener than gas? Complete balderdash. Very nice for you, but only nice when it's only you. The fuel may be renewable but the pollution and excess deaths it would cause (if everyone reverted to it) is ridiculous. Not saying you shouldn't be selfish (I would if I had the opportunity) but don't delude yourself it is green.
What 'option' did i give to forum members? I asked a question about house value according to fuel supply and got a load of nonsense in response. If you're going to criticise me at least decipher the information at hand before you make a fool out of yourselfIt's about the inconvenience to others around them.

Burning wood and burning rubber are completely different things. Again, if you're going to attempt an analogy it will be given a lot more respect if it isn't so nonsensical.
Since you are not paying for any advice you might recieve here, you have right to complain when forum members choose not to answer your question.
Since you are so rude, and only want to demand that people answer your question, I hope that nobody here does.

An alternative fuel system would probably be of a benefit as they are very much in vogue and are massively growing in popularity. Have you checked out the renewable heat funding? might be of some assistance0 -

I'm putting you right because you failed to read or understand the entire thread, and then tried to wrongly condemn me based on your misunderstanding, and i'm rude?If anything i'm doing you a favour - learn to decipher things properly before sticking your oar in.0

Only if they have free wood.
Mains gas will usually be cheaper.0 -
Vassa - you'e put this up on the gas & electricity board. The locals will view your thread from that perspective.
If you are interested in house values it you might get a better response on the Home Buying, Renting & Selling board.0 -
