How desperate are Toluna getting? (Vivatic)

Options
Been doing surveys on Vivatic for some time and when I started the Toluna surveys were worth 80p each. After a while they went down to 50p but I guess that's the way of the world as everybody is struggling for cash a bit.

Just logged on today and I see there is one Toluna survey for 49p and another for 47p. What on earth is that all about? Are things really so tight for Toluna that they need to drop 1p off the payout value?

Maybe we could all get together and have a whip round for them. It really doesn't matter to me one jot if I get 50p or 49p I am just curious why they feel the need to grab such small amounts from their members. After all if we didn't do the surveys they couldn't survive.

Yes value of surveys is one thing, but you do of course have the choice as to whether you deal with them.

My issue is the time they take to pay. I'm due a voucher which, despite the ridiculously long 4-6 week delivery estimate. is now approaching 8 weeks since ordered.

I have raised the issue with them and received standard useless reply.

Truth is that Toluna has no respect for survey takers and should be avoided.

Toluna used to be a good site where you could get points for writing opinons and taking part in the community as well as doing surveys. Now its entirely survey based, they take forever to credit and even longer to pay.

I'm on about 77000 points at the moment with about 10000 points pending. As soon as I get up to 80000 I'm inclined to order my amazon voucher and abandon the site even if that means I never get to cash in my last few thousand points.

I'm sick of getting prize draws where I'm meant to get points, being DQ after taking most of a survey and then waiting weeks if not months for my points.

I wont miss them and judging from the way they treat us they won't miss me!

Yep, don't blame you. Giving them a bit of stick on Facebook now, have got a response of sorts
  • Signed up to them about a week ago, and they just bombard me daily, not actually done any survey's for them!

Well allowing for the volume of surveys you will need to complete, the time taken for them to credit your account and the time for them to send you your reward you should be reaping the benefits of your labour about the same time Andy Murray starts his defence of his Wimbledon title........

What really annoys me with Toluna is the way they have reduced the amount of points rewarded for their surveys.A couple of years ago there were several surveys with 10,000 point rewards,or 6000 or 5000,you get my drift now the maximum appears arond 3000 points.
Another thing, their surveys attract relatively high rewards when completed via a third party site(the same surveys they allocate menial rewards on their own site.
Like many others I am fed up with them and now avoid them.
They will reap what they sow,if you pay penuts etc etc etc.
  • Could be the exchange rate. I think they're French? Or the local office is in France, something like that.

If they periodically normalise with their home currency then that could explain minor fluctuations.

Although the whole industry seems to be a little crumbly around the edges. The rise of informal social polling and semi formal self serve sites (survey monkey etc.) catching up with the buggy and expensive standards perhaps.

Although is that a paypal option I see now, buried deep in the rewards area. £30 for 160,000 points?

Knowing Toluna, even that would take 6-8 weeks to be processed

I placed an order for one on 31st July and it's still processing. Apparently they're looking into it.
