Biggest threat to cyclists I've seen recently is probably me.

I've been noticing them far too late on unlit country lanes after dark.

It would help if they had lights.

    You would think

Joseph Strong failed to see David Hall despite the cyclist wearing a high visibility jacket and having his lights on as he made his way home from work in the early evening.

So given we are talking numbers
Accident investigators who reconstructed the incident concluded that Mr Hall was stationary before turning right onto Green Lane and was waiting for Strong’s car to pass. Strong was cutting the corner on the bend and his wheels were over the centre broken white line as he was trying to avoid being too close to the edge of the road.

A survey later carried out by police revealed that over half of motorists cut the corner when negotiating the same bend.

So the driver didnt see the cyclist stopped at a junction in high viz with lights.
but hey,it was only 'near the centre line' so its fine. off you pop home now

    Well thats opinion,not law
AS I have just demonstrated. Even signs saying cycling isnt allowed, isnt a final word in legality.
I suggest you go start a thread on the motoring board if you want to discuss the biggest threat to pedestrians

Your suggestion is duly noted but not appropriate as the link I posted is clearly targeting cyclists who are in conflict with pedestrians plus cycling which puts themselves in danger.

Thus I think it qualifies for me to post the link here as it shows that SOME cyclists cycle in a manner that puts them at risk of prosecution and also injury or worse. This I think follows the title of the thread "Biggest threat to Cyclists"... THREAT of prosecution and THREAT of injury or death to themselves and possibly pedestrians.
    PLEASE NOTE
My advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.

Yup,except in a thread about the biggest threat to cyclists.whats its point?
I have already demonstrated cars are a far bigger threat to anyone of those pavements.

Not just pavements though is it? What about jumping red lights, cycling at night without lights, wrong way down one-way streets, undertaking indicating left-turning HGV's....

Are these not threats in one way or another to cyclists then?

Now we get to the crux of the matter.
So cyclists are the biggest threat to cyclists?

Its about speeding, drink driving, using mobiles while driving, bald tyres etc etc
All things you do in you car.

Yeah, course it is. Nothing to do with irresponsible cyclists at all then!

The link even prompted the story of one cyclist undertaking a left turning HGV even though it had it's indicator on PLUS an audible warning! Who/what was the biggest threat to that particular cyclist then?
    PLEASE NOTE

Or I suppose the little girl knocked over in Brighton recently by a cyclist running a red light was the biggest threat to him being jailed?

Yup and yet got a harsher sentence than a motorist would.
    Started that pedestrian thread yet?

But what about those irresponsible motorists?
