Which cyclists are these? You are simply making my point for me.
What did this cyclist do wrong?

The irresponsible ones which were high-lighted in the link I posted. Or are you saying that they don't exist?PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -

sigh. Is there any point?
I asked about other cyclists. As is the norm cyclists are treated as one type.
So once more, are you treated as a drunk driver?
I don't know... are you? AFAIK the driver of a vehicle who is found to be over the drink drive limit in terms of alcohol (or drugs) will get a ban of at least 12 months.
The rider of a bicycle could be charged with being drunk in charge but would not receive a ban due to the fact that he/she dosn't require a licence.
Must admit, I thought even you would know this. And in any event, was this raised in the article relating to irresponsible cyclists?PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -

An article posted on a thread about threats to cyclists.
I can see I'm being too subtle for you.
You and your ilk talk of cyclists as one entity.
so as a driver, would you like to be clubbed together with drink drivers?0 -

Err, don't see your point. I have always accepted that there are bad motorists. Recent poor weather shows them up in their droves... the ones who drive in poor visibility with no lights on makes my blood boil. These debates are common place on the motoring forum.
You on the other-hand seem to ignore the fact that there a too many irresponsible cyclists and will argue until the cows come home to challenge anyone who suggests (even with proof) that moron-cyclists are out there of all ages.
Your previous dig at Johno is a perfect example. So let me ask you a question; if the lorry in the picture was indicating to turn left, would you try and cycle on it's near side?
BTW, the clip in your example shows the lorry driver to be at fault as he left it too late to indicate. There.... better now?
I'm off to the pub now, so you can have the last word.... tonight. :beer:PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -

Sorry to disappoint. You had the last word. Was already out
What I would do is moot. What the majority of cyclists would do is moot.
Its the fact that the minority(just like in drivers) is touted as the norm in many threads, news articles and through that public perceptionNo, the point is that there is an awful lot that cyclists could do to help themselves - lights, reflective/high viz, not jumping red lights, not cycling up the inside of trucks, not cycling on pavements, using cycle paths - but whenever such suggestions are made, it is always the victim mentality of "it's never our fault, its always the big bad motorist".
If cyclists did everything they could do to stay safe, then that argument would work. They don't, so it doesn't.
Hence me asking which cyclists a post refers to. It speaks about cyclists in sweeping terms, when it really relates to a few.
How do you read that statement in red? If you dont do everything, then its your own fault. from the list Altarf decides
So as you see a cyclists not using cycle paths but riding on the pavement isnt doing anything to help themselves?
Many ride on pavements to (in their perception) avoid danger.
No doubt had the cyclist in the video been killed by the truck with no video evidence. it would have been put down to he/she cycling up their inside0
