Biggest Threats to Cyclists?

Im not sure it was an overtake, just the car pulling along side a cyclist at a junction, which is why its best to move out when approaching junctions so they don't trap you on the inside.
in this case, he did it, despite me being in the middle, and because that meant he was over the centre line, he moved back in, with me still being inside him0 -
Yes and have you noticed, same for trains at level crossings. It's always the train that hits the pedestrian/car even though the pedestrian/car driver ignores the traffic signals/barriers!!!0

So the first of nine inquests to be held into London's 2013 cyclist vs HGV fatalities - Dr. Katherine Giles took place today.
http://www.standard.co.uk/news/london/coming-up-the-near-side-of-lorries-causes-many-deaths-coroners-warning-at-inquest-into-death-of-cyclist-dr-katharine-giles-9036906.html'Coming up the near side of lorries causes many deaths': Coroner's warning at inquest into deathA coroner warned cyclists about the danger of riding up the inside of HGVs after hearing how a “brilliant young scientist” was killed by a tipper truck.
Dr Shirley Radcliffe spoke out after recording that Dr Katharine Giles, 35, suffered a “traumatic road death” after colliding with the lorry as it turned left in Victoria on April 8 last year.
The coroner said: “I don’t wish to place any fault or blame on the victim on this occasion. But I can highlight once again the danger of coming up on the near-side of lorries. It’s been recognised as causing many deaths in London.”
Westminster coroner’s court heard today how Dr Giles cycled up the inside of the tipper truck as it waited at traffic lights in Palace Street to turn left into Victoria Street.CCTV pictures not shown in court were said to give a “very clear view” of the incident, which happened about 8.25am.
They showed the tipper truck - which had just emerged, loaded with earth and soil from an adjacent construction site for the Zig Zag building - had its left indicator on. An audible warning that the lorry was turning left was sounding.
I wonder what the remaining inquests will find, keep watching this space.0 -
