Fire Safety Update

I wonder what their Fire Risk Assessment says about keeping fire exit routes clear.
Assuming they've carried one out0 -

Of course it did. This is how this forum operates. When someone disagrees with a post that person is personally abused and belittled by the bullying tactics of the rest as they are unable to convincingly defend their position without resorting to insults.
Thankfully I am thick skinned enough not to be bothered by being called an unpleasant sociopath from an unknown member of an Internet forum.0 -

Sadly as you appear to support the position of someone who has reverted to personal abuse I will no longer be discussing this with you on this thread.
Well, I'm not going along with the idea that you can diagnose someone as a sociopath just on the basis of what they choose to report to the authorities or their personal assessment of the seriousness of a safety breach.
I just disagree that this is a minor matter.
True, there is only a tiny chance that this particular breach will ever cause any problem at all, but over the entire population, getting people to take a pro-active approach to fire safety can't be a bad thing.
Of course, stopping people leaving chip pans or lighted candles unattended would be the best use of anyone's time on that front. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -
I think the sociopath jibe was meant tongue in cheek.
Anyway, I have contacted the local fire authority and asked them to phone the shop and tell them that it is a breach of fire regulations and to shift the car. Hopefully, somebody with a bit of authority will do the job. I'll let you know if it works.Je suis sabot...0 -

It's clearly not tongue in cheek. It's just abuse. It's what you lot on here do! Still it makes you all happy :rotfl:
I'm impressed you can just tell the local fire authority to phone the shop. I would assume they would want to investigate first....0 -

I probably overstepped the mark there for which I apologise. If you don't think something is serious then obviously it's not right to say you are a sociopath because you don't do anything about it. We'll all have to agree to differ as to the seriousness of the problem.0 -
Inform your local fire brigade. i.e. ...
http://www.london-fire.gov.uk/safetyatwork.asp
"Inform us
Tell us about serious risks. If you're concerned about a fire risk which may be a danger to life (for instance a company or organisation disregarding fire safety practices) you should contact your fire safety regulation team during normal office hours ..."

I emailed a picture.
I don't want the shop prosecuted or some other heavy-handed action. I just want the car shifted.Je suis sabot...0 -
Just to round this off, I have had a response from the fire safety officer:
"This complaint has been completed and closed.
The door you referred to was indeed a fire exit and a safety notice was delivered.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me again should you continue to notice the parking in the area."
He also attached a picture showing a clear exit.
Thanks to everyone for their advice.Je suis sabot...0
