You do love having a dig ;-)

You complain about me responding too much and then try and get me to respond by posting ridiculous accusations.

    It's very childish.

He has several similarities to dear old Goater:

    1) Capable of intelligent posts.

    2) Seems to be 'here' almost all day long.

    3) Almost never lets a post go by without responding.

    4) Willing to argue with half a dozen people at once and doesn't seem to care that just about everyone thinks he's wrong on a topic.

    5) When he gets going on a thread he has nearly twice as many posts on it as the next most prolific poster (as a result of 4).

    But, who really knows?

I was Jacque Chirac last week. Its good to know I'm missed!

I said that I did not believe you were JC.

So, if you were, you got one over on me.

Of course I wasn't Jacque Chirac.

The inability of people to get jokes on this forum was one of many reasons that led me to getting banned!

As well as the many other names that they have used.

As a matter of interest what forum names have I meant to have used? I'll recognize the names of course, just interested in which previously banned posters has been marked with the Goater78 tag?

I'm hoping you're not associating me with battleborn as though he was entertaining and made me laugh he was a bit of an imbecile!

I think that JR's thought is that it is so unlikely that the particular problem that the OP saw would ever cause a problem that it's just not worth bothering about.

Whilst it's true that there is very little chance that one instance of a blocked fire exit will lead to tragedy that is, of course, not the point.

What people such as he fail to understand is that in most such cases, where there is a tragedy, it would have been preceded by at least one person knowing that the fire exit was blocked and doing nothing about it.

It's the same mindset as those who think that the chances of their having an accident (or getting caught) if they drive a short journey drunk, are so low that it's not worth bothering about. Yes, the chances are low, but if they and ten thousand others adopt the same view and drive drunk a couple of times a week, many tragedies will ensue.

It's due to a very common inability to understand statistics and probability - both subjects that it is known that it is virtually impossible for humans to understand intuitively.

Unfortunately, when people such as JR allow their intuitive feelings to take precedence over the accepted way react to a situation such as the one in the OP (of the original thread), they end up making potentially fatal mistakes.

Exactly. Complacency often leads to avoidable fatal accidents.

Battleborn and his alter ego earthstorm were definitely not you (at least not unless it was you pretending to be an imbecile).

I didn't think JC was you.

In fact, the only person who has even raised my suspicions is Jack Reacher - and then only over the last couple of days. It's the arguing with half a dozen people at once on one thread that made me wonder. You know how argumentative I can be but I would give it up as a lost cause long before I was fighting a battle on 6 fronts with not a soul agreeing with me!

I wasn't referring to that post. It unfortunately appeared in between the post I was referencing. I should have quoted but it was a very long post and I was on my phone.

You have made your views quite clear, right from your first post. But now you are back tracking.
