nuisane calls

Sunday night - 10.00 pm
Monday night - 9.20pm
Today - 4.55pm

Calling the house phone, sadly no number and asking stupid questions. Sounds like some prank because sounds like the person is holding their noise. When asked if we could call them back they said , "NO", i will call back later. Told her not to call at a late time like last night and they denied they rang. I was very polite and professional but if they call again I know I won,t.

Do I ignore the calls and just let it ring. Thing is we also have our home number as a business line aswell so every call is answered.

So stupid really, something like this would never have got to me, but sadly today it has.

Any other ideas ?? Or anybody else been through similar ??

Thanks

  • Find out the number and Google it? At least then you'll know who it is.

Answer the phone, say you've got a bath running, can they hold a minute while they turn the tap off, put the phone down somewhere in the house and then go and continue whatever else you were doing, keeping them holding. Then you can waste their time for a bit, after all of yours they've wasted :)

It's certainly stopped my unwanted calls after a few times after someone in Cornwall used my phone number for pig feed and haylage companies and they refused to stop calling me as the fella seemed to be in a bit of debt and they refused to accept a 25 year old yorkshire lady wasn't a Cornish male farmer called Barry.

Get a whistle and blow it down the phone, loudly.

Or ask them to hold the line a moment and go off for ten minutes, then come back, "sorry, I'll just be a moment" and repeat. And repeat, until they get fed up.

When your pick up the phone let the caller speak first if its friends or family they will say hello or something if you get no response just put phone down.

Please, please don't do this - I know someone that lost an eardrum to this and nowadays I believe some sort of charge could be pressed!
