What do Tesco do to their fuel??

Yes much better. Even fully loaded, 6 adults, roof box and every nook and cranny rammed with stuff :rotfl:
Like I say, I'm not going to read too much into it, I was just curious after reading this thread.0 -
I have no reason to doubt your figured but they don't correlate with my findings or infact the findings of a mate that i sold my old Mondeo to who thoight i was imagining the difference.
I suspect there will be variations in conditions and the ecu parameters that may be relevant.
Though both my V50 and Mondeo were in a relatively high state of tune, one 130bhp and one 136bhp and they both had punchy performance for what they were.
My wifes Clio is only a 68bhp model and i don't think it even has an intercooler!
There is certainly not a massive improvement in economy, though after a week on premium fuel with a good quantity of redex it does smoke a little less on hard acceleration.
My point being is the level of tune relevant?
In the same way as a highly tuned petrol turbo engine the ecu will turn down the wick when run on a lower quality fuel to protect the engine.
I have no issues taking any poster at their word.
But the caveat being that i, and others with the same findings, would like the same consideration given to our findings and conclusions
And the money saving point is irrelevant in my area as there is always an Esso, Shell or Murco that is the same price as Tesco and Asda.
Would you pay Heinz money for Tesco or Asda own brand beans?
After all they are the same or similar beans likely from the same producers.
Does anybody refuse to believe when somebody says Heinz taste better, after all, all baked beans are the same aren't they?0 -

A completely false analogy. Taste is entirely subjective. Now if you were trying to measure and compare calorific value, that would be one thing but taste is a matter of opinion alone.0 -

Indeed, I prefer Branston beans but due to health considerations use Aldi reduced sugar and salt which are perfectly acceptable and a lot cheaper (have you seen how much salt is in a tin of baked beans ).
As I said, I'm not reading too much into it, it may well be a case that give it a few more miles and the MPG will pick up and get better figures.
None of us are in a position to run a scientifically robust analysis and there are that many variables to take into account that any results and findings are open to interpretation which is clouded by preference and perceived knowledge.0
