Am ment to be getting 20mb and the bt website tell me am getting only 3.1mb.
Am paying 25 pound, WHAT A RIP OFF.
BT are the same as all ADSL providers, including Sky and that is they state upto whatever mb's/sec, because the further away from the exchange you are the slower the speed, the physical length of the line is the same regardless of the provider....if you get much better speed with one compared to another then you will either be comparing adsl to adsl2 or were connected to faulty equipment or had a faulty router/internal wiring/filters.
Free Sky has a 2mb/2gb limit, 2gb allowance is tiny and will not be enough for most people0 -

As mentioned above, BT (and all other ADSL providers) can only offer up to 20Meg broadband. The up to may be written smaller, but it's there and it's all over their T&C's.
If someone from BT actually said you'd get 20Meg, that's a different story and you'd have a case, assuming you could prove it.Dave. :wave:0 -
My TOTAL Sky bill last month was £43.00. That included SKY+ (no desire for sport or movies), Sky unlimited broadband, Line rental & SKY talk unlimited. I think SKY are great and moving from AOL to Sky was best move I could have made. My quarterly phone bill with BT use to be around £130.00 per month so I've saved a small fortune switching to sky. I'm one very satisfied customer.0

Switching to Sky form BT vision would save me around £15 a month, and I am on BT's top package.
BT's hub is useless, if you have an internet hungry family like mine it keeps dropping out and disconnecting, it allocates game ports to laptops (not very secure) and doesn't like Xboxes.
Plus even though BT says it doesn't, if they choke your BB speed because of high usage ( see their fair usage policy and network management policy) you may lose BT Vision, like I have for the past ten days, and no-one at BT knows how to put it right.
BT are a joke, each arm is seperate commpany and they are all pulling in different directions, even their billing is archaic, monthly for BB, then 3 months in advance and 3 months in arrears for phone and vision, my wife has accounts and she finds their statments hard to work out.Only Six Months and £1500 to go !!

Is the Sky broadband package truly unlimited as to up- and download amounts? And do they throttle connection speeds at peak times?
My present PlusNet package (broadband only) is genuinely unlimited but my speed (never more than about 2MB anyway) is severely restricted at various times of day: I only get the full line speed from midnight to noon. Do Sky do that?
I am an existing Sky+ (HD) TV customer and so I suspect it might be a good move to go to them for net access too.
Many thanks.

BT Vision is just the normal Freeview channels with on-demand content. The Sports channels (Sky Sports 1 & 2 and ESPN) come down the ADSL line, so you need to have BT broadband.Dave. :wave:0 -
I have been with BT for 11 years and have had bt vision which i love since it first came out .I rang bt as they were putting packages together for new customers at an all in price of £51 including all sports eg,sky sports .I asked if i could have the same deal but they said no as i was an existing customer ,but they could put it all together and do me a deal ? of £57 for the lot broadband ,line rental ,phone and vision with sports .Brill i said now i've just recieved my bill and whoopie do i am now £104 in debit !! i rang and she said sorry but your rentals alone come to £59 a month without your phone bill added !! so my £57 won't cover anything and we will have to charge you £77 a month now ?? I was not amused i have emailed but this is the cheapest offer ,though not for the new customers as the letters i keep getting through my door tell me. I have told them i will go to sky as i can get a full package with sky sports ,entertainment ,broadband ,phone calls and line rental for £60 a month .I love bt vision but feel i have been mis-sold and overcharged ...and let down.0
