Personally I don't understand how the bank can prevent them being reset up again.
What actions have been taken with the payday lender? I'm assuming money is owed has a repayment plan been discussed?
You could raise a concern if you have any doubts:

Well surely if PDL try to set up another CPA after it's been officially cancelled then they will be done for theft!
Regards her PDL and speaking to them I want to keep that personal and not discuss them on here0 -
The banks have every authority to stop further payments and prevent the CPA being set up again. Besides, a CPA cannot be set up without authority from the consumer so if it was restarted then it would be fraudulent.
These PDL companies are just a law unto themselves. Having tried, and failed, for 6 weeks to terminate the CPA through the actual company I would suggest you send a letter (signed for) telling them that you request the CPA to be cancelled and that you want confirmation that this has been actioned. I did this, got nothing, then showed the bank that I had done all in my power to terminate it through them.0 -
Sorry, what I actually meant is that I tried for 6 weeks to cancel it through wonga but got nothing. Wasn't suggesting you try and fail for 6 weeks!!!0

Im sure how CPAs totally work and I would assume it would be fraud if they reset them up again.
However the bank has said they will refund any money taken im not quiet sure what the issue is, its not if they have said they wont do anything.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -
The issue is that they are failing to cancel the CPA in the first place which, in turn, could lead to all sorts of trouble if money is taken and not refunded in time to pay DD's set up for bills. They have requested to cancel it, the bank have refused.......totally in breach of the FCA and FSA's policy (if that's the right word, which I suspect it isn't!!)
How to cancel a continuous payment authority
In most cases, you should be able to cancel by contacting the company taking the payment and asking it to stop. However, you do have the right to cancel directly with your card issuer. Once you have done this, it must stop payments immediately – it cannot insist that you agree this with the company taking the payment first.
REMEMBER: IT IS YOUR RIGHT TO CANCEL CONTINUOUS PAYMENT AUTHORITIES DIRECTLY WITH YOUR CARD ISSUER
However, it is recommended you inform both the company taking the payment and your card issuer when cancelling a continuous payment authority.
You may also want to check your next statement to ensure the payment has been cancelled as requested.
Keep in mind that you will still be responsible for paying any money that you owe.0 -

Thanks sacha28. That's exactly the problem :T0 -
I would suggest you call back the number above and speak to another advisor and request for the authority to be cancelled then post back and let us all know what they the number is 0845 366 0391.
What efforts have been made to cancel it with the PDL?Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -
Hey, no worries
I got myself into so much trouble with this kind of thing and spent lots of time researching so if I can help just one person with what I have learned then I'm a happy, if somewhat still skint, girly0 -

Could you post the links to these polices?
Im not tottaly sure a blanket stop can be put on these type of transactions which would prevent them from being reset up.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0
