• I was finding it hard to enter them all in time but now I subscribe to the forum, I get an email once daily (or you can chose weekly) with all the new comps posted that day I quickly enter all the ones I want & it's all done in about an hour or so. So much easier & quicker than skimming them on here IMO. The only ones not listed are the dailies so I go do them when I've finished & keep Pirelli running in the background whilst I'm doing it also.

• ok so i wanted to start this competition thing, but i was worried about one thing.

if i sing up to lots of competitions at my address, wont i get loads n loads of spam junk mail to my house and email address?

just wondered how much people on average see. i mean is it like 30 letters a day coming through your letterbox or 1 a month?

Depends on the comp, but if it's EU based you must always legally have the ability to "opt out" of marketing communications.

For email and phone, you should have to opt-in before they can send you communications, although it's a bit more hazy...

Basically, always look for the tickbox saying "we may send you information and offers etc...", and read it to see whether the box should be ticked or not! If you use a 'competition address', you'll know straight away if one of them has sold your address without permission...

• I always make sure I don't check the 'would you like to recieve info from our affiliates' type boxes whenever I enter, & I've never had any postal spam, & only the odd spam email, which I can live with. :)

And I've been comping on & off for around 2 years now.
:):D Tightwad. And proud of it! :D:)

I'm a bit sneaky with emails - I set up my own domain (example.com) with catch-all forwarding for about £10 a year, and this allows you to put anything in front of it. Therefore, whenever I enter a comp with email address, I use "companyname@example.com"... when I get spam, it will show which email address it was sent to and therefore which company has used my email illegally.

So far, I've not caught anyone out - they've all obeyed the law - but if I do get spam for "guinness@example.com" (for example) I'll know who to complain to! And also which address to block.

P.S. just to iterate that "example.com" is just an example, not an address of mine...
