I used Roboform for several months, and then actually bought it ~ best thing I could have done. It ended up costing me under £15, and is worth every penny. Just discovered tonight that I can even fill in the obscure bits on forms which you have to put manually in, and then save them filled in already. For example, tick the boxes for no carp.
I enter my grandaughter on CITV site, and fill in her details, and save as a password, just have to paste in the entry, and press submit.

To get round not paying for it, you need to use the same password when you register on sites, and the same user name.
You don't need to mess about reloading, go to the Login and delete down to 10 logins, and it will work again.
Thats another good thing about buying Roboform, you know when you have to keep registering different user names on a site, because you can't get them to open ~ it saves the user names as well.

I use the free google autofill on my firefox/google toolbar, it's ok but I notice some new sites running flash don't have yellow boxes so I end up filling it in manually anywayz, the spoil sports!

I swear by Google Autofill - I just remove all the other buttons and leave that one there. Yeah - annoying about flash - but I sure make up for it on other sites. :T

I use robo form and it stores, for me at least, more then 10 passwords. It did tell me a while ago that I needed to upgrade, I ignored it and it continued as it was. I have loads of passwords in it, maybe I am just lucky ;)

For Firefox users I recommend the "AutoFill Forms" add-in from https://blueimp.net/mozilla/.

It's more powerful than Google AutoFill, because you can write your own filed-matching rules (yes you have to be a bit techy to do that -- but it's fun!). I spent a few hours (spread over weeks) and it can now cope with almost all forms (except those that use crazy field names!).

Another approach, for Win users, is to use a tool like AutoHotKey (www.autohotkey.com) which lets you assign "macros" to keys. So, for example, you press F1 and your name gets printed into wherever the mouse cursor is. Or F2 prints your comping email address, etc. If you define F1-F10 like this, it's a breeze to blast through those forms which your auto-filler fails on, because they've chosen duff field names.

    Best wishes

Firefox user here & I've been using AutoFill forms since I started comping on here mid-July, but I hadn't a way around those forms that either had weird fields names or were flash pages!

Also have something called Snap Links - Snap Links allows the user to easily open multiple links contained in a selected area in new tabs... - makes it a breeze when I'm a few pages behind & trying to catch up! I just right click + drag across the titles of the threads & it opens each one up in it's own tab :D

Thanks gakochan, I've downloaded AutoHotKey & trying to configure it as I type :D Should make things even faster!

I use autocomplete which comes free with your computer. Go to internet options in your My Computer tab and it's there. Tick yes and then click on apply. It works on almost every site I go on and it's FREE.

    Thanks VelvetGlove, SnapLinks is great!

Yes, I forgot to add that something like AutoHotkeys is the best way (that I have found, anyway) to auto-fill in Flash forms (yuck to them anyway!).

Tip: in AutoHotkeys, assign your keys to match the most common order fields are found in forms, and end each string with a TAB, so when it gets entered it will take you to the next form field automagically!

    example:

    F1: Fred<tab>
    F2: Bloggs<tab>
    F3: 999<tab>
    F4: Letsby Avenue<tab>
    F5: Toytown<tab>
    F6: Rutland<tab>
    F7: RT99 1XX<tab>

    ...etc

    cheers

OK we have it configured, now to add the TAB :) it is mesmerising the way AutoHotKeys 'types' the information in - desperately after a comp now where I have to fill things in! :D

    Thanks for the TAB tip!
