  • I must admit i felt like you when i started back in January this year. Since then i have won hundreds of pounds worth of prizes. You do need to enter a lot to win - i didn't get my first win until after 3 months of starting then after that the wins started to trickle in. I am a full time mum to three children so it's not always possible to get on the computer. I also agree with the others this forum is so friendly compared to the other forums on this site!
Just look at my ticker, i will admit July was the best month i have had for wins so far.
Anyway go for it and good luck.

Hi, I'm after some advice. I've been entering about 50 competitions minimum per week (Mix of postcards, text and online) for about 5 months. I still haven't won a thing:cry: . Am I doing something wrong?
Also where do you all find out about these competitions? I pay for www.mycomps.co.uk and also the winners companion (Which is posted to me once a month) and also get them from this site. Does anyone know of any other free sites for comps as if I could find more to enter I would.
Your help and advice would be much appreciated, thank you. :D

I would have thought there was enough comps on here for you for free without having to pay to enter them??? I don't know what mycomps or winners companion is but to me it seems strange to have to pay to enter free comps?? Anyway, I enter at least 50 comps PER DAY mostly online. Your not doing anything wrong, its just obviously not your turn to win yet. As soon as you get your 1st win, more and more seem to come along. Its normal for the wins to take ages to start. I think it also makes a difference what type of comps you enter and from which website. There are some dodgy ones out there who just want your details to spam you rather than send you a prize!! :rotfl: Sorry, I think i'm waffling on now!!! :D

    NOW IN COMPING SEMI-RETIREMENT! :D

    Hi Naibsel

Firstly, forget the postcard entries and paying for winners comps/friend etc... Silly me, I used postcards, plain paper etc.. entries for about two years - spent loads of money on stamps, postcards [even scrounged for free ones in pubs!] and wasting a lot of time. I also used to pay a monthly subscription charge and recieve a monthly magazine.

Guess what.. In two and a half years I won nothing, that's right, nowt! So I gave up and....

Since using this site MSE [from April 2007] I have won loads of comps and it's not cost me a thing [apart from broadband cost which I have won prizes to cover this already!]. Total win so far amounts up to £267.00!

If you find that you really enjoy the postcard etc.. entry then great, it's for you, but personally I think it's a waste of time and money and using this site is much much more beneficial.

I'm sure you'll have a win soon, all the best luck!

Thanks both, GoldenJill you are so right - I'm spending over £10 per month on subscriptions and getting through about 50 stamps per week not to mention the cost of the postcards! I think I will cancel my subscriptions and just use MSE from now on - do you really find 50 new comps per day on here?

  • I don't think you are doing anything wrong, just keep going you may have already won but the draw hasn't closed yet. Also i am still waiting for two prizes to arrive from june!! I also wouldn't pay to enter comps, there are plenty of free ones just look at the ones posted on this forum.

A way to find out if you have won is to try googling your name.

    Good luck.

I just got a pair of Merrill trainers, which I had won at the begining of June. Usually a polite email does the trick.

I really can't keep up with all the competitions that are posted on this site, so if you find time to enter 50 postcard comps a week etc.. you'll have the time to enter the comps on here. You should just trawl thru the pages of comps [keep an eye out for the closing date usually posted like this
E: 01/09/07 and also sign in and click the "thanks" button to quickly check if you've entered a competition or not.

    Good luck
  • I enter around 100 a day on here, the only time I pay for a comp is if it's a PS3 or DS Lite with a text comp as a 1 off - around 1 every 2-3 months - or if it's less than 25p. I spent in total £2.60 over a 2 week period on text messages from the Boots text comp but won approx £15 worth of prizes!
2025 - finally back comping after a stressful house move - send me fairy dust please
  • I was hoping to win a couple of instant wins to get me started, but it wasn't to be.
I'm going to keep going, it costs me nothing, I already pay for my broadband, shame the house looks like a bomb's hit it & the kids haven't been fed for 3 days:eek: only joking:rotfl: 4 days:eek:
I'm sure I will soon be driving around in my new car using my tomtom on the way to the airport for my free holiday, which i'll be using my new beauty products on & leaving the cleaner I have for a year to clean up my house, due to the neglect after all the comping i've been doing:T
How many of these icons can you use...  :j :money:   :p;):D:o   :rotfl: :T :A :easter: :EasterBun :easter_ba :kisses: :heartsmil :heart2: :smileyhea :lovethoug  :kisses3: :kisses2: :rudolf: :xmassmile :snow_laug :santa2: _party_  :footie: _pale_ whoops am I in trouble now????
Comping again - wins so far : 2 V festival tix, 2 NFL tix, 6 bottles of wine, personalised hand soap, Aussie miracle conditioner
