Hey would you believe it, the E06AUG format worked. I think I've found a format that allows you to search by end date.
Could I now ask a favour and get a few of you to give it a go and let me know if you are successful or not. Enter E06AUG into the Search box above, select Forums, and then hit Search. You should find this thread.
If I get positive feedback I'll post a new thread letting others know.0 -
Hi all,
I have found that the date format EddMON (e.g. E31AUG) can be used to search. I am proposing that this format be adopted by the forum when creating new posts.
What do you reckon?0 -
Yo, just in case I didn't make it clear you can use the search function with this date format. So if you want to search for comps ending today you could with this format...
E06JUL
I think it's worth adopting this for posting new comps, but if I'm on my own here I'll just tuck my tail between my legs and leave it.
And before you ask I don't mean Buffalo Bill style.0 -
I don't think it's such a bad idea, though personally I'm not likely to use it as I pretty much keep up to date and enter a days postings at a time to keep up. I'm easy either way, whatever the general consensus is0

I can usually find whether a comps been posted before with certain keywords anyway like the answer or part of the url of the address of the site it's on etc.
I think most people pretty much use E:6/8(today's date for instance) anyway.I'm not sure it would catch on to be honest as i said maybe people could use whether a comp needed the answer pasted in to save coming back and that didn't;)Darren0 -
From a Scouser to a Hammer, cheers for the feedback.
I honestly think that for searching for comps per date the Edmon format works better. Say, for instance, I went on hols, came home and wanted to prioritise the comps I entered by those ending soonest it would be perfect.
Like you say, however, it might not catch on. It was just an idea.0 -
I can see your point and yes anything to make the search easier and well lets face it work or work better is great but there will always be people that haven't read this thread that will start comps their own way or people will forget or there will be newbies that haven't seen 'the way to do it' so will also do it their way:)
By the way can you send Macherano sp? back;)Darren0 -
Haha, not a chance.
How about Bellamy instead?0 -
No i will be very angry if we actually bid even £5m for him:(You can keep him i'd rather have Crouch how about him instead for £7m?;)
Sorry to all those people looking in thinking there's something interesting being added to this thread;)Darren0 -
Am tempted to write a jibe about the legalities of buying players over internet chat forums, but you've probably had enough of that for one season.
:P
With regards to the date format thing I think I need one of those Monster Money Saving Dudes to take up the cause. There's little chance of a Newbie getting much interest.0
