Hi Guys
Have just discovered this thread and have seen how much is out there to win and have decided to give it a go (just hope I dont get addicted!):o
I was just wondering when you enter the competitions what do you do with regards to ticking the boxes regarding receiving info from either the site or "3rd parties"?? Does the fact that you select not to receive info affect your chances of winning?!
Sorry if that seems like a stupid question or is posted in the wrong place or the answer is already on here-cant see it for looking!!
Thanks in advance
ps also posted this on the other thread, but think that was the wrong place...:o0 -
i tick anything the only thing i prefer not to have are phonecalls.
we live on a business so junk mail isnt really a problem either
don't really care for spam either
take the rough with the smooth i guess0 -
Yay! I can finally post!
I started comping at the beginning of May using this site but haven't been able to post for some reason. I have been using the thanks button but that's it.
Now, I can finally post and say hi to everyone! Its been really frustrating! I've wanted to join the comping challenge as well.
I have had some really good wins (my first win unbelieveably being a trip to New York!)
I've put them in my signature now hope that's ok.
I know it’s a while since I won some of them but is it ok to still post in the I won bit so I can say thanks to the posters?
Thanks to all who post, and now I can, and if you lot slow down, I might be able to post some that haven't already been!

Hang on a minute! I've just found this thread and I've had an account with WeWin4u, and I can categorically say that they do exactly what they say they do - enter you for lots of competitions. I didn't win but I personally know several people who have.
Yes, you get a lot of extra mail, but if you use a separate email account then it isn't a problem.
As for being a rip-off. It's £3 a month for goodness sake, what sort of rip-off is going to make any money charging that?
PS. Before you ask, since this is my first post, I don't work for them. I just think the earlier posts are inaccurate and someone should stick up for them.
Hi Kingcomp, welcome to MSE, hope you enjoy it here as much as I do. Its good to hear the other side of the arguement so thanks very much for posting. However, I do disagree with what you're saying. As you are probably aware, this is a "moneysaving" site, and thanks to the other forums I've saved myself loads of money, and thanks to this forum won some lovely prizes. And I've done it without spending £36 a year on membership to find info about comps which are pretty much all on here for free. The only club I have thought about joining is the compers one recomended by Monsieur Epargot (Soz if I've mispelt your name) as that has lots of help for the skill comps (e.g. complete in 10 words or less). From MSE Martin - Some General Tips On Holiday Home Organisations and Sales Meetings

is there a thread for freepost competitions???0
-
Hi Pearsoneys, welcome to the form, hope you enjoy it here.
There isn't a dedicated thread to freepost comps, Most of the ones on the board are free to enter via the web. There is also a sticky thread on postal entries at top of page 1.
have fun.....From MSE Martin - Some General Tips On Holiday Home Organisations and Sales Meetings

Hi, newbie to MSE and comps here! How do you guys deal with the threat of junk mail (real, not e-mail)?? Seems many of the comps require legit postal addresses, etc, and before I dive in here I really dont want loads of catalogues and junk coming my way soon!!0

If I do receive any through the post I have a look at it then put it out for recycling!
PS. Welcome to the comping section of MSE, am sure you will soon be as addicted to comping as the rest of us!Weight Loss - 102lb0 -
Thanks for reply - does opting out mean that a lot of your entries get binned the other end do you reckon??0
