Competitions Discussion Thread Part 2

Don't know if this has been asked before. Would it not be a good idea to start a main thread where people provide details of the where they won their prizes? I only ask as I have been doing comps since the begining of the year and there are some sites where I have entered over 150 competitions and received no reward. If I had confirmation that other people were winning on these sites then I would perservere.
I did a thread HERE that said how you get informed of wins from the various sites, whether that will help you at all?Weight Loss - 102lb0 -
Can i just ask a quick question... i enter tons of comps each day - and had a few nice prizes from it... but am i being silly?
I recently moved house and had a new phone number, one which i immediately listed with the TPS. I have never had a single advertising/sales call since moving. (i used to get a fair few at my old place).
In order to protect this I do not enter any competition which asks for a phone number and won't allow me to send the comp form with the number left blank.
I honestly can't see why they would need my phone number. They have an email address i check regularly and on most a home address to send the prizes.
Am i just being silly, about a third of competitions on here ask for a phone number and i just ignore them.0 -
Well I just put my mobile number for most of them because I could change it it I had to. Of all the thousands of comps I've probably entered, I have never had any phone calls except the Telegraph to say I won a ring
Don't know about anyone else though
Oh should say, I don't enter comps for holidays or tickets and such like, or makeovers or personal styling sessions0 -
I always enter the number and have only had 2 telemarketing calls from people in the last year and both of them were where I said I didnt mind them contacting meWeight Loss - 102lb0

I use my mobile number for comps and usually put in on most entry forms. I've never had any marketing calls from comps i've entered, in fact its only ever rang once which was to say i've won. One thing I am getting a bit fed up with though is all the brochures coming through the door. Even if you tick the box for no correspondence you still receive them. I got a bump to 3 catalogue yesterday!!! Anyone else get one??!!

I've got a sipgate voip number that i use for all these type of things, it's not set up to ring I just use the free voicemail and they email me the messages as a .wav file.
The same with mobile really, I have a comping sim with voicemail turned on and use this number when a mobile number is needed and use it for the odd texting comp too.
The only people who have my real numbers are family and friends
The only phonecall I've had to say I've won has been the £450 halfords voucher text comp and they left a message on my comping sim and I then called them back.
I now get a lot of junk mail, I can cope with the emails as I can just delete them, but feel a bit bad about all the paper thats coming through the door, I just make sure it all goes in the recycle bin.0 -
I have another comunications query: I might be changing my broadband supplier soon (need to be money-saving) and that'll mean a change of e-mail address. And daft as it sounds what if I'm e-mailed about a win and I don't get the e-mail? (Most of the time I use hotmail, but the ones with an e-mail link I use my other one, and I've entered hundreds with it).
It isn't possible to "forward" to a new e-mail address, is it? Feel free to laugh, I'm not technically minded.
