Compared to:
It's all very well wanting to share your story but at least test the page and make sure it can be read properly before passing it around. As you can see from the top picture, the text on the left of the page is simply not readable. You clearly have something to tell but yet at the same time you care so little about telling it properly that the page wasn't even tested well.
The page does specify that Helen had some troubles and issues.. if the amount of attention paid to the detail and troubles in her life was as much as this webpage then I think people need to take a look at themselves inside and ask themselves just why she did what she did. Something isn't right here.
It takes seconds to change the colour of a font.. seconds that could make all the difference but no-one has spared those and yet this story is supposed to be very important? Is Helens story important or not?
Sorry to be so blunt, I really am but this page shows one very big wrong sign: Not enough care.
What an idiotic comment.
This is an incredibly emotional and very sad case, where a mother is simply trying to warn others.
The fact that its slightly difficult to read is so off the scale of unhelpfulness in relation to this topic, its unreal.0 -
I also found the bottom half of the blog hard to read because of the dual colour, so it's not just one person if that helps0
-
I found the latter half hard to read, yet still readable.
But that's irrelevant since the purpose of the thread is to highlight a tragic story - a tragic story we should all remember next time we get behind the wheel of a 2tonne+ lump of metal.
All these idiotic comments are doing is driving peoples attentions away from the main point.
Thanks for posting up this story op.0 -
Ettenna,
That blog clearly admits that Helen had troubles. I AM saddened to hear of this tragedy I really am. The page does say that she was troubled though and while I admit the page is a good idea, a bit more time spent on it would have made a big difference.
The webpage IS faulty and as I said earlier, it's very easy to change a font colour yet no-one has done so. It may be ok on your machine but did you test it in multiple browsers or just one? - These things only take a few seconds to check but (while I appreciate the effort of writing it all) it seemed those few seconds couldn't be spared.
If you're offended by that, then I'm very sorry but its not me who couldn't spare the time. I DO understand your plight, I really and honestly do but if it can't be read properly then you need to do something about it in order to get your story out further.
I apologise if you were offended by my earlier post, I am very to the point. Sometimes thats good, others it's bad. I am not perfect. I do however stick to the point - the page needed to be tested a bit more to check that anyone reading would be able to read it.0 -
I also found it hard to read but a simple highlight solved that.
it's a tragic story for all concerned and I'm sure will give food for thought to everyone who reads it but I'm uneasy about the apparent lack of sympathy/empathy shown for the innocent victim of the drunk/suicidal driver who sadly also sounds like she ended up with life changing injuries0 -
Hello, for those who have asked, the passenger had non life threatening injuries and has since recovered fully.0

That's all right then... or is it?
How can you make such a throwaway remark about someone hurt by this girl?
She was drinking and then chose to get into a car and drive... she was not a victim but someone who was committing a criminal act.
It is pure luck that she didn't seriously injure or kill some innocent third party... let's not try to minimise this by saying the passenger 'has since recovered fully' like that makes the drink driving OK.:hello:0 -
id rather be dead than brain damage. When you die you're the one whose screwed. When you're brain damaged your family are also screwed because they have to nurse you now.
Granted when you die, your family are going to be upset for a month or two but then they can get on with their lives. But when you're brain damaged you're constantly there for 4-5+ years sapping away someone elses life.0 -

fgs, op is trying to use her daughters sory to raise awareness and stop others from drink driving. cut some slack0 -
TBH, from what i've seen, mobile phones and other gadgets are the biggest danger to teenage drivers.
But most of this wouldn't happen if not for peer pressure....... A sensible person might drink/drive if enough people told them it was "ok".“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”
