Please share with your teenagers - drink driving blog post
This blog post was written by my niece on the first anniversary of my daughters car accident. She was probably drink driving and was wearing no seatbelt. It shows some of the impact this action has on family and friends. Feel free to share it - we want the message to be passed on.

Probably drink driving??? She either was or she wasn't.
Yes, probably. Unfortunately she cannot give consent for her blood to be tested to ascertain whether she was over the limit or not. But I think the fact that she is now brain damaged and in a vegetative state is far more punishment for everyone than losing her licence for a while.0 -

Luckily her selfish act didn't hurt other drivers BUT what about her passenger? How is she?
That blog is very biased... If it wants to educate then it needs more facts about the pain drink drivers cause to others.:hello:0 -
Sorry to hear of your daughter I really am however I won't be sharing this. For one simple reason:

Compared to:
It's all very well wanting to share your story but at least test the page and make sure it can be read properly before passing it around. As you can see from the top picture, the text on the left of the page is simply not readable. You clearly have something to tell but yet at the same time you care so little about telling it properly that the page wasn't even tested well.
The page does specify that Helen had some troubles and issues.. if the amount of attention paid to the detail and troubles in her life was as much as this webpage then I think people need to take a look at themselves inside and ask themselves just why she did what she did. Something isn't right here.
It takes seconds to change the colour of a font.. seconds that could make all the difference but no-one has spared those and yet this story is supposed to be very important? Is Helens story important or not?
Sorry to be so blunt, I really am but this page shows one very big wrong sign: Not enough care.0 -

If everyones stopped picking the OP to pieces for trying to share....
Here is another very will written story that brings home the anguish that drink driving can bring:
"Spare a Thought" by R_U_Local on Pistonheads.0 -
i managed to read it just fine.. im sure some people like to pick holes in everything they see just for the sake of it, or for some superiority complex issues0

I could read it OK too. I still mourn the loss of a girlfriend killed by a drunk driver - in August 1962. In those days, the penalties were derisory - he didn't even go to prison.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0

Wow, what an unnecessarily harsh comment. There are frank and kinder ways of giving feedback.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -

Thank you for your opinion. I think it may be the machine you are viewing it on - it is perfectly viewable. It comes out nothing like your picture.
My niece is 21 and wrote this from her heart. How dare you compare the colour of a blog page to why she did what she did!! How dare you intimate that we don't care!! I hope something like this never comes to your doorstep. Nearly 7000 people have viewed this in the last 3 days, 400 from this site since it was posted, and you are the only one to complain about the colour. Maybe you should get your eyes tested.
I am extremely aware of the consequences of drink driving and do not condone what she did!! But if it stops one person driving after having had a drink, then it has worked. It was just good fortune that no one else was seriously injured or killed by what she did.0
