Boys whinged and moaned but were actually fairly helpful. Together we:

Tidied the kitchen, putting away last night's washing up which DSS was supposed to do before he went back to his mum's
Washed up the breakfast things, dried and put them away
Cleared the work surfaces and wiped them all down
    Swept the floor
Tidied the LR, all the guff was put away properly which is a minor miracle in itself
    Cleaned the glass coffee table
    Made all the beds
    Cleaned all the mirrors
Boys tidied their bedroom floor while I dusted their room
Dusted my bedroom and cleared the top of the dressing table

It took 31 minutes. Boys are now having some screen time while I shower, declutter my hairy bits and get my face on. Then we're off into town (I have a plan to sort out the TV mess on the drawers in our bedroom) and Ald!. We might even have a cheeky McDonalds for lunch.
  • HHC ran a bit over, but still doesn't feel like I've done very much so going to have a squash and crack on. Cleaned out all the drainage / filtery bits from the DW and put it on a clean cycle (can I just say, ewwwww!) as well as doing other little bits from the list. Clean towels folded and put away, fresh load on in the WM. Anything gone is done :j

Clean floors - this is now DH's job as I've been banned from moving heavy items
    30 minutes to spare...

    Done

Extra Mission ~ Choose one or more of:
    • Clear and wipe the tops of the wall units!! - not safe to reach
    • 30 minutes ironing - need to stop procrastinating with this!
    Deep Clean Challenge
Get in that cupboard under the sink and fling everything you don't use.. if it hasn't been used in the last 6 months you don't need it.. fling it!! Give it a GOOD scrub out before replacing the things you do use and need to keep. Feel free to get carried away and do more cupboards!!! - I think mine may be too full of spiders for me to attempt this (wimp!) but I'll keep it on here in the hope that DH will give me a hand.

    Morning flyers!

cleaned bathroom last night, towels washed on overnight priced electricity and are now on line.

lots to do including car to tax.

I am going to write an achievement list rather that a to do list - ie what I hope to achieve.

I will feel virtuous and efficient just looking at it;)

I've done a HHC and managed to get all the dailies done except washing up. I was putting the dishes away and discovered that DD really didn't want to wash up last night, almost everything needs to be rewashed, again. I'll do that after lunch and get everything cleared in one go.

    Personal:
    Shredding - HHC
    Writing x 9 pieces
    Toots list
    Scanning (old documents from pre-2006)
    Ironing
    Colour hair
WM: trainers, door curtains, towels, bedding x2
Nag DD to get all her homework done.
    Weed yard.
Call oven repair peeps / get oven fixed - after bills have been paid.
Call landlady. - after oven is repaired.

Pinch and a punch for the first of the month

Daisy and Roxy, from somebody who has chosen schools 3 times and is a Governor (including sitting on the admissions committee) I can offer you a little advice.
when the first of our five moved up to the school, youngest is now at and im a govenor of the then head made the toilets part of the parents tour.

Thanks for this advice, very helpful. I have one more school to see today during the day. Will then know my top 3, the other 3 are really just fillers as I either don't like the remaining schools at all or we will stand no hope of getting into.

Before any of you think I'm some sort of superwoman or spent hours doing stuff, I definitely am not and didn't. I was on a bit of a deep clean mission for the last two weeks. I have sorted and scrubbed all kitchen cupboards owing to a flour mite infestation and a general re-organisation. I did clean the oven last week but the stubborn marks didn't completely come off so I redid it this week and I have been dw-ing the oven racks everytime there is space and they are very nearly sparkly, so it's all good :)

    Have a terrific Tuesday x
