^ someone is going to have to tell me exactly where...
Click on the mobile link doesn't take you to the mobile website, just back to the list of ways to bank on a mobile. Maybe it won't display unless you're on a mobile, in which case they don't count the HTC 8X as a mobile.

But again, why not just like "m.hsbc.co.uk" to the mobile site to make it easy to just type it straight in?

Nationwide, because their online banking is miles ahead of the other banks I've used - RBS, Co-Op and Bank of Scotland.

I also like that they have immediate deposit machines in the branches near me.

NatWest since the early 60's (When they were The Westminster Bank). It was where my father banked and they've never done anything (in relation to my accounts) to make me want to change.

This is me too although not as long, probably since mid 1980's. This is where my parents banked and Natwest have never given me any reason to feel the need to switch.

The results so far are quite interesting:

Santander and Nationwide are in the lead = people on this forum are generally pretty good with money

The comments show that Natwest customers live up to their stereotypes = people who can't be bothered to change to something better

Hardly anyone banks with Barclays or HSBC = they have poor products

I think the most interesting point is how few people bank with Halifax - I guess most people here are just using them for a free fiver without actually using the account. Makes you wonder how long the free fivers will continue if everyone is just 'taking advantage'.

Thanks to everyone who has voted so far.
The results are fairly surprising so far. I didn't expect Nationwide to be 2nd.

Nationwide - Now my main account as after a number of years of having a not so perfect credit score they gave me a full on Flexdirect account with absolutely no problems when other banks were rejecting me - I have read on here lots of comments about them being one of the more stringent banks when it comes to credit scoring. Everything going fine with them so far, opening of account speedy and everything received in a timely manner. Online banking clear and easy to use as well.

RBS - Select Account but only with full authorisation card. Pay currently going into this account but will be switching it to Nationwide. RBS refused to change my name on my account when I reverted back to my maiden name unless I came into a branch to do it which was a lot of hassle so haven't bothered as will be closing it. All my other accounts were happy to it by post with original documents.

NatWest - My 'spending' account whilst in financial difficulties. Only a blue card rather than the coveted purple though!

Currently reassessing my banking so interested to see the opinions of others as to customer service and ease of use.

My son opened a his student account with Barclays last year and is changing this year to Santander due to the awful customer service and having to go into the branch and beg if he needs a slight increase to his overdraft. Opening the account was a doddle but the service since has been pretty poor to say the least!

Halifax, because I used to work for them, and know their systems.

RBS - joined them nearly 40 years ago when the very nice wee man in the mobile bank van drove to the end of my road in the Western Isles. Now I live in the city but have never seen the need to change - staff are always friendly both in branch and on the phone, they are helpful when I don't know what I'm talking about, and have never "messed up" my finances.
