Who Do You Bank With (and why)?

Nationwide, originally flexaccount for the free travel insurance, but now FlexPlus for the benefits and free foreign cash withdrawals, Select credit card for abroad, 6% regular savings account and my mortgage is with them.
Also have accounts with NatWest (Current Plus, now Select, for no reason other than it's my oldest account, since they changed the overdraft TCs), RBS (Child & Co), Santander (123) & Halifax (Reward).0 -
I can see this thread to be one of these long winded ones where the OP will of aged 10 years and posters still posting why they're still with their bank.0

Only really interested in the main banks as ones with a tiny number of branches or telephone/online only aren't practical for my lifestyle.
Plus, the thread has already highlighted some features of other banks I didn't know about.I can see this thread to be one of these long winded ones where the OP will of aged 10 years and posters still posting why they're still with their bank.0 -
Nationwide (mainly) - primarily because I believe in the idea of mutual organisations without shareholders and want to actively support one.
I joined up in 1987 the month they brought the Flexaccount out and since then I've had no real reason to change. Yes, their customer service has gone downhill considerably in the past 5-10 years, but not enough to make me move elsewhere, because just about every financial institution seems to have the ability to give crap customer service at times, so on that score I reckon it's pot luck. In any case, their on-line service offers 99% of what I want to do, and so interactions with them are rare, and I can't remember when I last needed to go into a branch.0 -
Santander - Great service & great interest on 123 Account.0

Was with Natwest for over two decades (I had the piggies) but they don't give me free money so salary is paid into Halifax for the free fiver then the entire sum is moved to one of two Santander 123 accounts for the cash back and interest.0

Forgot to mention that I just opened a Citibank account for the currency. That will probably become my main account because I travel for work and keep getting zoinked on exchange rate when reimbursed by employer.0

First Direct. Purely because on the odd occasion I need to telephone them I get through straight away without having to pick one, let alone 10 different options. Also the call centre is uk based. If my posts have random wrong words, please blame the damn autocorrect not me0

Barclays - banked with them since I was 12.
Have a Platinum current bank account (no longer offered to new customers though), with a healthy overdraft limit.
Always offered five-figure loans, and have an excellent credit history with Barclaycard.0 -

Link to mobile banking is from first page, Everyday banking
