Hi everyone,
I am new so i hope i have posted on the correct forum,
With regards to tips on winning,i put it down to luck.
Last april i won a competition with Real radio Wales to go to Senagal West Africa, you can have a look here with my video diary-world vision click on THE WELSH WINNER.
All i had to do is say in no more than 30 words why i wanted to go,i didnt really put much thought into it and i won.:T
I visited areas of such poverty it was unreal, have a look on world vision website week for children.
My daughter(11) won the trip to hollywood with the Disney channel, she just had to answer a question,we went in Feb this year was only for family of four but i have three children and disney paid the extra.
We went with virgin Atlantic stayed at Disney hotel in California, had all park passes and £500 spending money.
Like i say it is just luck i think, well it was for us.
All the comps i enter which are not lots i NEVER ring up,always use the internet, that would be my tip!!
Thanks for reading(i waffle i know)

Thanks rrickyuk. I've sent a note to abuse about our new friend spaming the site.
Not absolutely sure - did you have a look at polarcherry's posts? I seem to remember that Dalkirst said that they had posted a few other comps as well, but I think that all the others might have been duplicates, whereas all the !!!!!! ones look like originals.
It does all seem to point in one direction to me, too...
And more than a coincidence that I had only just re-posted my 'bad' list.
Thanks for reporting - I didn't feel that I had enough proof; you are much more experienced than I am. :beer:Al Mac Appreciation Society No. 188

Hi there - well done on a fab win!!
Were you trying to include a clicky link to your video diary?
To do a clicky:
Highlight some text in your post, eg 'click here' , then click on the world/binoculars icon, then delete what is in the window that appears (http...), then paste in the url you have, then click ok, then finish your post, then click on your own clicky to double check it loads.
<o></o>
OR (another comper's version):
<o></o>
1) Type in the word Clicky
2) Drag your mouse whilst holding down the left mouse button over the word clicky.
3) Select the button thats has a world and chain symbol on it and that opens a window with http:// in it.
4) Paste the url in the and select ok.Al Mac Appreciation Society No. 188

Hope this helps those who do the Telegraph comps, but worry about their info being left online for others to see.

hi Ricky etc,
Yes i am sort of connected, my Bf used to work there.
So i thought it was a good site to show you lot cause i know that it isnt fake. (he used to arrange with companies which prizes to run.)
I thought this forum was free to post your opinions? So I posted some comps that I like to enter. How is that abuse!?
I'll continue to post more comps that i like on here, and give you guys a second chance to welcome us newbies.0 -
hi polarcherry, welcome to mse. As I mentioned above, I've reported your posts to abuse. There's no need to get so wound up about the word abuse, all rule breaking is dealt with by sending an email to abuse@moneysavingexpert.com, there isn't a separate one for each kind of infringement. Its them that decides what stays & what goes.
If you look back at other users posts you'll find that !!!!!!! and their many guises, are very well known on here for spamming the life out of you and passing on your details.
Also, if you look through the rules that you signed up to when you registered with MSE, you'll find that you're not allowed to post comps that you have an interest in (as you declare in #post 257).
Please don't let this put you off posting any other comps that you find, we like it when someone new joins & contributes. Its just that we also look out for one another here as there are some less than honourable companies out there (e.g. timeshares, photoshoots, scratchcards etc etc). From MSE Martin - Some General Tips On Holiday Home Organisations and Sales Meetings

Hang on, her BF USED to work there, she's not making any sort of gain by telling people about the site and now has no connection to them.
Although the site may not be the best, and have a poor reputation I feel that you're getting ahead of yourselves. She, like I, am a relative newbie and so what if she doesn't look at many sites but shares the ones she does look at.
I think you've all been rather cynical and quick to judge and that certain members owe her an apology TBH
Anyway, welcome Polarcherry0 -
Nat, could you elaborate on your post and say who is being cynical and who owes polarcherry an apology and why? From MSE Martin - Some General Tips On Holiday Home Organisations and Sales Meetings

On your postcard on the right hand side, under the stamp were the lines are thats were the recipients address goes (the person your sending it too)
on the blank side/left hand side , write your entry/answer the questions, then put your name, address, tel no.
Probabaly already posted somewere in this thread, but i thought id save people trawling through the masses.
Thankyou Ginjim !!!to be updated:;)0 -
Before I found the wonders of comping via MSE
I was an avid postal comper.
My hints would be to use a coloured design postcard for entries, with delivery address on right hand side and your address written across (side to side) of left of card. I know many comps are picked by machine but I've had good wins after sending off the coloured so...
Also I found that as a subscriber to magazines I got early notifcation of comps and my entries were recieved early, these gave me winners too
As I buy computer ink in bulk (ebay) I bought a disc of old postcard designs (again ebay) and some card from local market and started printing off my own postcards
And I send with 2nd class stamps as (after completing royal mail postal survey) I've found they arrive around the same time as 1st class letters...these can be bought in bulk from whsmith (using reward card to earn points, great for when they sell stamps at lower than normal rate)
Hope some of that makes sense, maybe helps someone and doesn't make me sound like too much of a sad case! This time next year Rodney...0
