  • I find it better to click onto the web link - to link to the e-mail adress rather than use the link from the OP.

This is because some links from the web are formatted for answer : address: etc and they are gauranteed to have the correct spelling / name for the subject line if required

If the e-mails are not recieved in the comp owners format, i think that they may think its a bit fishy ( although i maybe being paranoid!)

But hey... it helps to be sure

also formulating your e-mail sig saves a lot of time too;)

  • I have found some competitions have a large text field box to fill your address details in - a text box that the autofill programs do not fill or only half fill.

Or on some details fill boxes, (i think pdf style ) won't allow / recognise Autofill programs

To combat this and speed up the comping process i leave a microsoft word document open with my full address on it

I then just copy and paste any details needed;)

    Good luck all:D

I am new to this and I have noticed a lot of competitions say they will announce the winner on the web site.

So as not to miss out just incase I win, how do people keep track of what they have entered and when to revisit the web site to see if they have won.

    Thanks in advance

I enter lots and lots, after all teh more comps you enter the more chances you have of winning!

I think I enter over 100 per day or somewhere round that mark. I enter most of the ones posted on here for prizes that I could use, or would be able to make use of as presents etc

    Happy comping!

    Another tip:
when copy and paste from this forum, don't forget to delete space symbols:
when you copy word 'WINTER' browsers usually copy (and paste!) word with a space at the end: 'WINTER '. Not sure, but I think some sites may automatically treat it as a incorrect answer.

I was wondering how some posters include the icons at the bottom of the post form - you can just drag and drop them in!

Also, if I am searching for more than one term, after the first time I have searched and gone back to the main page, the box still has the previous search details in it.

So, I click in the box, use ctrl-a to select it all, then ctrl-v to post in the new search details.

Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts I've been Money Tipped!
I only started comping a couple of weeks ago and, after entering about 20 competitions, was lucky enough to win a box set of Lost and another of Ugley Betty sport-smiley-001.gif. I've now got the bug!

One thing I have noticed is that when I started, I was submitting multiple entries of many comps. (being a greedy beginnerrolleyes.gif) and my Hotmail account was full of "thank you for entering our competition" emails. I'm now a lot more selective and also read the T&C's carefully before I enter anything.
    Wins since 2009 = £17,600

    MANY THANKS TO ALL OPS
