  • hey guys :) I have been really struggling this month, everything has gone wrong that could go wrong, i'm looking at car repairs, i've had to buy a new bed, and the money hasn't been flowing in :( Atleast my new bed has come from a warehouse clearance and only cost me £210 :) and my old bed has been dismantled and i've kept the leather headboard, but my dad has taken all the slats and metal to build some stagings for his greenhouse :D waste not want not and all that ;)

But I have been a bit canny, I got a bookcase off freecycle for work and the office gave me £30 as they were going to spend way more than that on a naff one :)

My mum gave a tenner for no apparent reason? lol but cheers mum! :D

And i've had £3 of expenses refunded :)

I've also put my sofa on ebay and am hoping to get arounf £50-100 for it, as my dad has given me his 30+year old antique chesterfield :D which i have had my eye on since birth :D

So only declaring £43 for now

 Contracts are now being done on Monday...
Until we know what is what I can't sort tax credits etc!
    MSE-ing since 2007
  • On the plus side, I just got £24 of charges refunded from Capital One, should I count that towards my total? I got a bit tearful on the phone, I feel bad for the advisor but it's been such a stressful situation.

The downside is that I still have to get together £69 to pay them by the 23rd. I don't get paid till the 25th. Frantically eBaying everything...

    Cutting up the card now...

Sorry to hear that purple.sarah :(

I've always wondered if there is / should be an MSE Ebay thread so people on here shopping could buy from those on here selling but I suppose some might not want to link their Ebay/RL Id with things they post on here?

I'd happily browse MSE user's Ebay items to see if there is anything suitable I need for Xmas etc.

    Thank you.

That's a good idea but I fear it would fall foul of rules against self promotion or sharing personal information :( It would be nice to know you were helping fellow MSE user's while shopping.

speaking of ebay, for an easy image coming soon photo, google images has lots of pictures to choose from. Could be worth saving one in your images to use when your pushed for time or having problems.

Well done Hok3y on your daily roadkill finds, any idea how much you have found in total or do you not keep track separately?

At one point I was keeping track quite closely. All I know now is that it's well over £20 since Jan 1st (and I only count money I truly find on the street - if it's from the laundry/sofa, I consider it mine already and don't count it) but I'm going to start a tracker spreadsheet as of Nov 1st. I did have 2 additional finds yesterday evening but thought best to keep to myself. I also found 2 pennies this morning in Tesco. I have pulled coins out of muddy puddles before when you wouldn't think they would be visible. I've just gotten so good at looking for those perfect edges, which is why I could find what I did on a dark street last night - much to the amazement of my hubby!
