Well I am floored! Last week I joined a bingo site, loads of winnings, so I deposited £10 to withdraw £60. And....it got paid today! Their T&Cs were a bit hazy so I'm thrilled to add another £50 profit to bring my total to £295.02

The site, if anyone is interested, was BingoGodz. They had a free £5 offer which I used.
    I like to make money
Best wins: £3,000 luxury holiday, holiday in Cornwall, £250 Murad Skincare hamper, angle grinder

:j Make £10 a day challenger - it pays for trips to Florida! :j

The issue is that the buyer is going to get a refund whatever you do if item has not turned up. Anything at all that you do to annoy them and which serves no purpose is likely to endanger your stars. I am obsessed with stars and drive the regulars on the eBay board crazy with constantly going on about them as it only takes a few lows for sellers to run into trouble and I wouldn't want you to endanger your account.

Buyer does not need your COP that only benefits you and a buyer may think that by sending a copy you expect them to claim and are going to refuse a refund. That alone might be enough to dip you a star or two and serves no purpose.

If you are getting a lot of losses then perhaps look at your selling model, are your labels well written, are they securely on your packets do you have return addresses clearly showing? before I took the summer off I was sending approx 150-200 parcels a month and have had no losses for about 4 months.

As for being a business, if you buy to resell you are a business, and since you post openly on this forum others may well have noted the pattern. I would urge you to be very careful identifying yourself by giving details of your purchases and sales in any depth .

Just remember that once a case is opened you must refund before eBay force you to otherwise the case is added to your expanded dashboard and counts as a strike. You also lose your fees if eBay force the refund.

Thanks Soolin, i'm not suggesting waiting for ebay to refund etc - maybe i should have been clearer about that. I was intending in just waiting a few extra days before resolving it. Basically i just want to give anyone who was claiming non-receipt when in fact they did receive the parcel the opportunity to say oh it has turned up now. If the buyer continues to claim it wasn't received after a couple of days i will refund (after checking their feedback for other claims being made).

Re the proof of postage - i was only going to take a picture and send it via messaging, just to reassure the buyer it had been sent - i have been accused of not posting before and perhaps that is why i thought of doing that. I still think it would reassure the buyer that it had been posted - i am a big buyer on ebay too and sometimes i would like to see one, even if only to see the date of posting.

Re the labels - yes they are clearly written and i use CD markers on plastic postage bags which do not rub off. I also add my return address to the back. I do understand that some parcels can go missing but i am at a loss to try and explain the number of claims i get at times. I have also had 2 buyers in the past claim non receipt and then list the item for sale and 1 recently who claimed 6 parcels hadn't arrived in the space of 3 weeks - There are people doing this and i and not just assuming some claims made are fraudulent. All i want to try and do is discourage this despicable behaviour and highlight the problem to other sellers on here, as well as make some suggestions as to how it might be dealt with - i thought it might be useful.

As for running a business i have not bought anything to sell on for months as i just want to clear out my own clutter on ebay before i do start to buy and sell again. I want to clear out the clutter first so i can start working at building up a business properly - i do have a business account on ebay as well which i use for anything i have bought to sell, but i do appreciate your point on that as well.

Sorry to all if i have cluttered up the thread here!! xx

Right, I have just added £295.

I was advised by my children's school that I may be able to get funding towards a school trip so I applied for what I thought could be a useful discount and thought I may get a few pounds off, today they have just called and said I can have a free place as I am sending two of them, this is to the Somme battlefields and is part of the marking of 100 years since the battles there, I went there years ago in connection with work and it was so very moving and humbling.

That's taken me past my target for this month.

Re roadkill I look out all the time now but only really find any round my house or car! I found 50p under the sofa this morning. I am also going to nab some sm receipts, I'm determined to do it!

ETA: I have just added £27 (monthly gym fee) as I have frozen a gym membership for 3 months. I only took this out very recently and it seems silly to have taken it out when I am trying to save money but I do need to get so much fitter and slimmer, I rang up to cancel but wimped out and said will start again in Jan. For the time being that's £27 more *not* leaving my account so that's good, in 3 months time I should be in a better position financially.
