Opodo overcharging

Last week we booked a flight with Opodo, when we started the payment process the price was £532, there was trouble with the payment going through but when it did we then received an email saying the price had gone up to £826, a 64% increase and that is what they had charged. The next day Opodo listed the same flight at £550.
Opodo say it is our mistake as we were informed of the increase before we confirmed the purchase, I say we did not know and if we did know this we would certainly not have purchased the ticket. Opodo response seems to be " we have got your money, hard lines".
As a family we have had 5 books with Opodo already this year and this looks like being the last

They cant charge you more than they presented to you on screen and you confirmed.
So it looks between choosing the flights and checking out that the price changed and was presented to you but you did not notice, would this be correct?
What the price is for sale at now is of no consequence. Supply and demand is rife in the flight ticket market.0 -
Legally they cannot charge more than the agreed price. Once you were informed of of the price increase, did you have a choice between proceeding or cancelling? If so, then you have no recourse; if not, contact your credit card provider (or bank if you paid by debit card).0

On trying to pay there was a problem with the securecode authorization, we went back on the browser to resubmit payment details and when it went through there was no indication of the price hike until the confirmation email came through, Opodo are trying to say we were viewing 3 flights in 3 browser windows and chose the wrong one, this is not correct
I have used Opodo 10 times in the last 2 and a half years, never again0 -

Any reason how they can be so specific you had three different windows?
Something aside from your flight prices is not adding up here...0 -
3 different advisers at Opodo have given 3 different stories to me, the last one says that they can send me their evidence but it will be encrypted ( so unreadable ) and there may be a £10 charge for giving me this info. He suggested that I employ an IT specialist to try to read the encrypted mareriel for me.
He claims I opened 3 window, two with tickets at the lower price, one with the higher price, and when I paid I selected the higher price, this is not backed up by my browser history.0 -

Did you have three windows though? Any window would update the session, if you open a price then find it more expensive on another window and checkout on the cheaper the session will be from the most expensive window. This is what happens with multiple windows...0 -
Why do people try to book with multiple windows of the same site open?
I suggest its to try and obtain a lower price than whats available for x number of passengers.
I have lost count of number of people who have messed up this way.0 -
I did not have 3 windows open and my computer log verifies this. We never even looked at a price in the £800 price bracket, there were dozens of flights at a lower price than this0

Then you will need to dispute this with your CC.0

A warning to 'old' Opodo users, the business was bought by E dreams of Barcelona and the customer service appears to be non existent and complaints of overcharging by E dreams fills this and many other boards. Beware!0
