To prove that the account is yours. Even though, in most cases, the money to buy the shares would have come from the same account.
  • Not very good if you dont have a cheque account.

I am not sure if you need to do this with X-O or not?

Pearl, your easiest option is to just get them to send you a cheque in the post.

It is just a blank cheque but put Two crossed line on the cheque & write "CANCELLED" between it.

    I asked them, you don't.
  • Yes just read that on their site.

You have to sent them an email requessting the funds be transferred to your bank via bacs thought, they will then transfer to the account details they have on file for your X-O account. This takes 2 to 3 days though.

Just got off the phone to the wonderful Equiniti. Was told my shares held electronically, and should have definitely recieved an email by now. Same for my wife. They are sending us both letters of confirmation, which will take 2-3 days. Bit frustrated by all this, put me off for good. Will sell asap and have no dealings with Equiniti again

So say UK Motorways Plc is privatised thru Equinity......you are boycotting the share offer? Even if the grey market shows a 50% profit?
    illegitimi non carborundum
  • No, you just make sure you buy them through a broker like HL and avoid Equiniti like the plaugue.

Don't go giving the government any ideas about what to sell next!
