BaconandEggs.
Your in the same boat as me unforunately. The thing I an not sure about is I had read somewhere that you had to pay £10 for a share certificate, so if they have refunded you all that excess money, how have they got the money for the share certificate? If they should have taken money, this definately goes to prove that there was a glitch with the website.BaconandEggs wrote: »£1000 worth of shares applied for.
£250 refund received this morning.
Still no email. 100% sure I selected that shares be held electronically and not certificated. I am sure of this as I was deliberating which option to go for and double checked the submission.
Phoned Equiniti today - shares are certificated.
If others have also found this, I suspect it may be due to some glitch on the website. e.g. if certificated selected and de-selected it registers as selected anyway. Alternatively, if when you press continue, if something needs changing before you can proceed - like passwords don't match, then certificated is checked as default and would need unchecking again.
This is all pretty hypothetical - but annoying nonetheless.
I would also appreciate any advice about how to proceed now I will be receiving the certificates.
If I decide to hold on to them, do I need to do anything? Will I automatically receive the dividends?
How do I go about transferring them into a stocks and shares ISA? What is the most economical way of selling them?
Apologies if these are basic questions - but everyone has to start somewhere.
Cheers,0 -

Your first priority is to get onto them and ask where your 90 pence has gone.0 -

Most helpful Quentin!
Since your the font of all knowledge, are all the people with share certs who want to sell them via Equiniti going to be charged a minimum of £45 to sell because they have the cert?
This does sound like a nice we money making earner for them.Wrong yet again.

How many times do you have to be corrected every day?

Good job all the rest of your posts are correct.0 -
Couple of things........the whole "tick this box if you don't want that, and don't tick the next box if you do want this" was very confusing, and Im not surprised people got it wrong.
Also, whats this "send us a cancelled or a blank cheque" business all about?illegitimi non carborundum0 -

Hi,
I've just called Equiniti (0121 415 7047) and they confirmed that I requested a certificate and it was posted out 1st class 2 days ago, so I should get it by the end of the week. It might be worth for those still waiting to give them a call to see what is going on.0 -
It is starting to look like a deliberate attempt to make more money by Equiniti Froggitt. I read on another site that if you wish to sell your share certificate via Equiniti, the minimum price is £45. By delibarately not making the options clear, they stand to make a pretty good profit from RM.Couple of things........the whole "tick this box if you don't want that, and don't tick the next box if you do want this" was very confusing, and Im not surprised people got it wrong.
