OK, another update and this one has got me fuming!

I phoned Equiniti on their 0121 415 0250 phone number to see if they could help where the Royal Mail share helpline couldn't.

The guy on the end of the phone informed me that the sending of E-mails is being DELIBERATELY staggered at the instructions of the government and they are only sending out 60,000 E-mails an hour.

So, when you get your E-mail and are able to make a decision to sell is out of your hands.

I applied at 23:55 on the final day of trading so expect to be in the last batch. Hopefully they will continue to rise although anything could happen.

    One word. FARCE.

It'll be interesting to hear when anyone at all gets there email judging by what'd being posted here and elsewhere.

Does anyone know if we'll be able to trade online once we receive the email? I'll happily pay the extra £10 trading fee to be sure about what price I get.

I wonder if the reason is logistics as much as anything.

Not just the issue of sending out so many emails, but also spreading out the effects of all the non-stockbroker RM shareholders wanting to trade on the stroke of 8am.

I don't suppose they can win: it's deemed wrong and unfair if they spread out the emails over a couple of days, but if everyone gets to act at 8am, it could be like Hargreaves-Wossname all over again.

Although, I can understand the frustration.

Just read back a few pages, and am surprised by all the panicky 'still not received my email' messages.

Do people really think the price will dip back down towards the purchase price and stay there....?

No, I don't have a crystal ball either but today I've bought a very big chunk for my long term pension fund as I believe this share will continue to rise, and will pay a good dividend too.

So stop panicking people! There is no rush to sell your initial investment unless you really have to repay that payday loan by lunchtime today.

    Chill!

You are taking a personal view and seeking to impose it on others.

Some people might very reasonably be uninterested in the long term prospects of Royal Mail and might have bought shares simply to stag them and take a quick profit.

That they are being prevented from doing so is imho disgraceful.

    Agreed.

I don't understand why these emails couldn't have been sent out in the last few days, surely staggering them over days makes more sense then over one day when some people are keen to be able to sell.

Holding onto the refund is bad enough but this just takes the biscuit!

The strike action will already be priced in, the market was well aware of it. It will make little to no difference IMHO.

It certainly puts the troubles at Hargreaves Lansdown on Friday into perspective. At least customers there were only delayed for one day and many of us are now grateful that we couldn't sell then.

Well I give up. I'm not spending all day hitting refresh on my email. It might not turn up today anyway.

I'm forced like others to just wait and see where the RM prices goes. Let hope we have some good luck.
It was suggested that RM workers would vote for strike action on Wednesday.
