Unbelievable WHCH, they won't act unless pressure is put on them, common sense would surely tell them it's in their own interests?0

I contacted DRD about 2 weeks ago and got a reply that they will be in touch by 18 December
How long does it take to reply to an e-mail!Weight loss challenge, lose 15lb in 6 weeks before Christmas.0 -
Wouldn't be something that I'd usually suggest but since you've pretty much done everything asked of you; would it be worth an email to Nolan Show or something of that description, to see if third party pressure may be possible and expedite things.0

The problem is there is a consortium of issues, e.g a run down building, a church car park, translink property, a betting offie (backyard is awash with rubbish and it is a vermin hazard), HE property left vacant and public property.
I wouldn't have the nerve to go on the Nolan show.0 -
Oh, funny story for you - in one of the problem area which I logged to the council they installed a new bin, I then advised the council that it was overflowing with rubbish every day, I only found out on Monday from David that they didn't have a key to open the bin.0

I know what you mean, it mightn't be the easiest thing to translate into radio or whatever - though having said that, its remarkable what contact from BBC/UTV/whoever can do to kick some departments into action. What's the worst that could happen type thing, but you know yourself what best course is.

Okay some success, I reported a flower bed to the council that positioned in my area that was over-run with rubbish, this morning 6 yes SIX, men were weeding it and clearing out the rubbish. I'll find out this evening if they did a good job or not.0

            Morning All,
This morning I conceded defeat to the road service on the matter. I spoke to the cleaning area Manager David Salters who washed his hands of all matters and passed the buck on most issues. It was a bit frustrating but I think there comes a time when it is necessary to pull the plug.0 -
Goodness me, I got a response from the said MLA this morning via email - she is still looking into the issue.0
