  • Ah I see now. I don't have an i phone.
  • WTFH.

I've followed your instructions and it worked.

    Thank you.
  • I upgraded to IOS 7 on my Ipad the other day and I don't like it much either but slowly getting used to it I suppose. Wish I could revert back to the previous version though.
  • Me too, I'm sure there must be advantages, but have not worked out what yet. I was happy with things as they were.
  • iOS 7.0.2 released now

My 1st reaction to iOS7 on iPad was 'no like' but after reading the guides I'm much happier. Enabling bold text and turning off the 'motion' effects for starters. DYOR

One thing I've noticed is that the internet browser now has merged the address bar with the search bar

Still, going back to one letter at a time to type in words, much prefer the keyboard on android
  • I have yet to upgrade to IOS 7 and will leave it until it works properly in the next Release(s), probably Christmas or later.

However I am annoyed by Apple's sheer arrogance in forcing it to download on my Ipad whilst it was charging. I did NOT ask for this update nor do I want it yet.

However as a result of the update being on my machine I have a sneaking suspicion that the Ipad is now continually checking to see if it needs installing as my battery seems to be draining quicker than it used to.

As usual with Apple software there is no way back if it does not work properly, you are stuck with it.

The Ipad is a brilliant piece of hardware but Apple's software update regime leaves a lot to be desired.

Um, you DID ask for it, or at least you must have changed your settings so that it will automatically do software updates. Apple do not force the update unless you have changed your settings to allow it.
Of the 4 iDevices in our house, none of them automatically updated. All required me to manually go in and download.
    1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
    2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
    3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?

Thanks for that. Before making the comment I checked the web and Apple have used what is termed a forced push to put IOS 7 on devices. This has lead to many complaints about devices especially those with low free space being depleted by 3Gb. I did this as am absolutely convinced I did NOT ask for the software. My Ipad was plugged doing a full charge which is when the software was put on. I also noticed my free space had declined by 3Gb.

Curiously enough I note this morning version 7.0.2 is ready for me to "Download and Install", my choice. Looking at it it is very large at 1.2Gb so probably a total rfresh of IOS 7.

Also if you type in the following on google :-

    IOS 7 Forced Update

There are a lot of hits on it.

I enclose an extract from one :-

According to the report, an automatic software update is being pushed out over-the-air (OTA) to iOS 7-compatible devices that don’t yet have the new operating system installed. As a result, up to 3GB of disk storage is being taken up on those devices. For folks who own an iOS device with just 16GB, this is a big deal. Adding insult to injury, this space cannot be recovered as the update file cannot be deleted.
