EA said 'no chain' but there is one

Bit of advice needed...
In the process of buying a property and it was advertised as no chain. We've had an offer accepted, appointed a solicitor and had the survey booked but have now just been told by the EA that the seller was buying a house which has fallen thorugh so we now need to stop eveything untill they have found somewhere else.
Surely they can't advertise something as no chain when it actually is?
So livid with them!
Thanks

Get used to it , lying comes as naturally as breathing to most of them
Watch out for the usual suspects to come along bleating how they only advertise what they are told blah blah
As always , EA`s can say and do what they like with little or no comebackNever, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0 -

What about the money we've already spent, based on their lie. It's outrageous.0 -

Surely they must be regulated? They can't just tell a lie to sell a house easier and then just get away with it when it's clearly not true.

Yes they are, but you'll notice every listing has a disclaimer that absolves them of all responsibility.0 -
these things happen all the time, it probably is the vendor changing their minds, nothing for the EA to gain in this. I assume it is not the only reason you picked the house...0

I work in the 'moving industry'. My frame of reference is around 20 years and circa 27,000 domestic moves.0

What do you mean ?
They now have a buyer , commited financially , and in most cases , emotionally , that they might otherwise not have had
And you know what they say about assuming...Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0
