I would take the car, getting from Wembley to Victoria isn't going to be easy. Wembley capacity is ~80,000 - figure all those people are emptying out of the stadium at the same time which overwhelms the local roads/tubes/buses for a while. Be gutting to miss that 11pm last train.
Madonna, the old pro that she is, leaves the stadium seconds after she leaves the stage. She doesn't want to get caught in that traffic and crowds ;-) Alas though, you'll be just another couple of faces in a throng, just accept you're going to be late but at least have the car so will get home. Your daughter will also be squealing with excitement and want to buy merch, etc so let the first rush out, do your buying of tat, then go and get caught in the car park queues :-)0 -

Leaving Wembley is a nightmare - saw Take That there in 2011 and trying to get on a Tube or bus away from the stadium is a long queue or a long walk to get away from the crowds.
Don't mean to alarm you OP, but we nearly missed the last Tube back to our London hotel - I'd hate to be stranded in London with my over tired 9 year old.
If you're train is going from Victoria, I suspect you're coming from South East England?
Knowing what I now know, I'd either go for the park at Stanmore tube option (even though it's an extra 40mins round the M25), or drive the car as close as I can to Wembley without getting caught in the traffic. You can always get a cab back to your car if you miss the last tube/bus, but far more expensive if you miss the last train/coach of the night.Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

OP it is a 10 (4 stops) minute tube journey from Wembley to Stanmore and Stanmore is the last stop on the line so although busier than normal the bulk of the crowd will be heading towards London. The last train leaves Wembley Park for Stanmore just before 1am and they run every 8 minutes before that.0 -
the last trains from Victoria on a Sunday night is much earlier than any other day.
My kids managed to miss this last train, when they was at Wembley in the summer for the summer time ball. This concert ran over and they missed the last train by miles.
Luckily for them Dad was still awake, and they was able to get a train to East Croydon, where Dad collected them, as train run to there all night for the Gatwick connection. They finally got back into E Croydon at 1.30am. Very tired and v grumpy. Youngest was 14 and others 17 and 20. So if they was tired and grumpy i'd say your younger child would be worse.
I think the suggest of parking at Stanmore is a much better idea as susancs says majority of people will be going the other way.
Although be warned they do limit the amount of people entering the station at any one time, so you may have to wait out side in a queue to get into the station to get back to Stanmore.
Might be a longer car journey home from there but maybe your DD could even sleep in the car on the way home??0 -
I would definitely drive. I always park at wembleyparking.net. I'ts only 200 metres from the stadium.I always find it a bit of a relief to straight in the car after an event. Having said that, I've just seen the price for the 1D concerts parking and it's £25:eek::eek:. if you do decide to go for it, book early, as it's just the car park for Latif rugs, so not unlimited spaces.0

Also if taking water in take the lids off and put them in your pocket or take spare lids in your pocket as they will take them off you on the way in.
I suspect that if someone walked in with a plastic bottle of water it has to remain sealed until they are asked to remove the top as otherwise jokers will smuggle in alcohol .
I work at festivals and where they have a arena they will confiscate any bottles that are already open.
Once a person walks though they will be asked to remove the top as that prevents the bottles being used as missiles.
so by all means carry extra tops but be sure to only bring in sealed bottles.0 -

There are some cheap hotels in that area which could be another option.
I took dd1 to see take that there about 2 years ago and getting out of the stadium and onto the main road took about an hour at least. It's thousands of people all trying to get to one place. The tube station had a queue of people all along the road so we were glad we had a nice hotel to go straight to.
I also took dd2 to see 1d this year at the o2 (I'm a glutton for punishment). They had 2 support bands which were on for about an hour each and then 1d were on for about 90 minutes if that's any help.
Unfortunately when we came out of the O2 the 1d fans are all going in one direction. So it takes ages to get out of the stadium and on to public transport.0 -
