Think I've just quit my job

Thats not very DFW is it!

Been unhappy for a while in my job (bored to death) but it was regular money. Just lately I have been getting less and less stimulated to go to work. Anyway apparently today I dropped a 'b*****k' and its not the first time lately. So I picked my handbag up and left.

Done this before and went back but this time forget it. I will just have to crack on and try and get more work.. Not even sure what I want to do anymore.

If you're not going back probably best to sign on with some agencies today so you have some work for next week. I have to say i've always admired people that do what you do, i've done it and worked my notice but never walked out and not gone back.

Go back apologise then go about finding another job. At least you have money coming in whilst looking.

I've done that before now. Got sick of my last job, but hey - a new start! If it's office work how about signing on this afternoon with some agencies for temping work until you work out what you want to do.

Sammy, sorry to hear about what happened - I think if you've got to the point where you hate it so much, it's maybe for the best anyway. What sort of line of work are you in? Do you think you'll find something fairly easily, or if not, could you temp or do some other kind of work until you find something permanent?

At least you remembered your handbag - when I saw red and walked out of work a few years ago (shouting 'You can stick your job up your !!!!!' at the top of my voice :o), I forgot not only my handbag, but also my door pass, so I couldn't acually get out!!! How silly did I feel, sloping back in to retrieve my belongings after such a dramatic exit.

What do I do - hmmm started off as a librarian, then I moved to the West Midlands and became a receptionist promoted to payroll assistant, payroll manager, accounts assistant, accounts manager and then financial controller.

Been a downward spiral since losing my job last year and winning my case for sex discrimination and constructive dismissal. Took the first job offered (this one) and been there ever since - too scared to move. Mainly due to lack of confidence. I can't go back and work my notice. I will still be there until the next bust up and I can't keep walking out - its not really my style.

I am looking at agencies now. I could get temping work quite easily. (I hope!)

Back in a bit. Any ideas for a new career gratefully received

I did have a few panic attacks - when i got to the door (where are my car keys) and then on the way home (wheres my mobile!) Luckily I had everything.

Well done sammy, you spend such a lot of your life in work, you can't waste it by being unhappy. While you are looking through jobs, look at everything and see what takes your fancy, even if it's something you wouldn't get or aren't qualified for. At least then you know what you would LIKE to do in the future and you can work towards that.
