We have lived here 3 weeks tomorrow, and already it feels like home, we love it!:T
Our forst mortgage payment went out on the 9th December, a larger one than normal due to start of the mortgage/interest difference etc, so our new mortgage now stand at £244,400.08
We both get paid next Friday, and other than council tax amount to pay that we are still awaiting on, we will be able to work out our new budget, includling savings, and I can start making overpayments.
I know I wont be able to make massive overpayments, as we have to save for diy needed in our 5 year plan, and our outgoings are a lot more now, but I'm aiming for £150 a month, as we know this will reduce our 21 year mortgage to 18 :j
Hopefully, I can make more over payments to reduce the balance /term even more, I love a challenge
The main thing is we have our forever home, we are so happy here, we have the life we wanted, paying it off early will be a bonus
I'm working on rebuilding our savings too, we have lots to save for , kitchen, repairs to outbuilding, decorating etc, but the hard work is so worth it , did I say how much we love it here ?:rotfl:current official end date of mortgage= 2037-aiming for 1st March 2029. mortgage balance start of challenge- 25/11/2016 £245,695 mortgage balance 05/06/25 - £101,353.67 2025 challenge- get mortgage balance to £95,000 by new years eve 2025, and a years outgoings in premium bonds after water system paid for

Happy new year to everyone :j
Today hubby and I have spent the day doing housework (me), and sawing a mountain of wood for our stove (hubby), we are taking the xmas tree down now, then relaxing with takeaway bought with xmas money, a few drinks, and last few treats before our diet starts tomorrow!
We both want to lose 2 stone, its no use having our lovely house and land if we are worn out dragging our fat selves round it, lol :rotfl:
As well as losing weight, we are are planning rebuilding emergency fund, £150 a month minimum mortgage overpayments, and various other savings goals for work/projects on our land/house
Tonight and tomorrow we will start making plans for everything, and getting timescales in place for each task, hope everything goes as smoothly as possible, but my mantra has always been hope for the best, plan for the worst !:)

Today we are catching up on a few little jobs in the house due to heavy rain
Ive worked out budget for xmas 2017, and my mini challenge is to save this by making extra savings on groceries/spending money/and winnings on lottery/bonus ball at work, etc
Still awaiting council tax payment amount, so no exact montly budget yet, but worked out rough guide, and will pay this into bill account on payday, anything left over will be divided into savings pots, and a mortgagw overpayment
I will keep on top of menu planning, and grocery shopping, which should be a lot easier s only hubby and I to feed, and the little doggy
We are determined to make this a productive year, we have been so lucky getting our dream home, we want to make t our own, and get the livestock etc, along side clearing as much extra off the mortgage as we can .
I intend making every penny count, our mortgage payment is higher, but we have the house we longed for, so its worth it , I intend clearing that mortgage at least 3 years before the current date of 2037 , hers to meeting our challenge, and hopefully exceeding it :jcurrent official end date of mortgage= 2037-aiming for 1st March 2029. mortgage balance start of challenge- 25/11/2016 £245,695 mortgage balance 05/06/25 - £101,353.67 2025 challenge- get mortgage balance to £95,000 by new years eve 2025, and a years outgoings in premium bonds after water system paid for

Day one of healthy eating and calorie counting. I had nice soak in the bath, followed by cold but sunny walk with the dog. Then breakfast of cereal. I'm making the best of my last day before work starts again, and back to 4.30am starts
Planning fishcakes, new potatoes and peas for tea.
hubby starts back tonight at work, so early night planned :)snuggled up with a book

Day 2 of healthy eating, we have both stuck to our daily calorie allowance:beer:
Spent £3 on bonus ball entry at work today, but gained 3 pallets from work to use for fuel for our stove :j ( with permission of course!)
Day 1 of work really busy, but the day went quickly!
Ive checked current accounts, 2nd mortgage payment went out, along with a few other direct debits today. The accounts have all bill money in for this months costs, I leave this on payday, everything else will be shared between savings, and mortgage overpayment on payday, then no impulse unplanned spendingcurrent official end date of mortgage= 2037-aiming for 1st March 2029. mortgage balance start of challenge- 25/11/2016 £245,695 mortgage balance 05/06/25 - £101,353.67 2025 challenge- get mortgage balance to £95,000 by new years eve 2025, and a years outgoings in premium bonds after water system paid for
