made overpayments totalling £250 over last couple of days, some back pay from December overtime  and account tidies so total overpaid after standard payment is now £547 for January !! its amazing how now im really focussing on money saving again, and have total responsibility for the payments/no direct debit for the mortgage i seem to be doing so much better!

Paid £70 off the loan today, i plan on making a final overpayment this week to the mortgage of £100 to bring it to a nice round £192,000 when hubby gets paid
Car insurance renewal last night completed, managed to save £25 on the renewal quote, not a massive ammount but every little helps. I had saved the cash to pay the insurance, so thats one less monthly payment going out.. 
Also i cashed in £8 from q.co, when that hits the account it will go to the overpayment account..

All in all a money saving week. Ive stuck to the food and fuel budget too, alongside meal planning and stuck to my list! being organised makes me feel better in these uncertain times, its the little things that make a big difference.

Hubby and i have decided to go alcohol free for February, and march too, as we are trying to cut back , lose weight, and sleep better. Alcohol definately affects my sleep , and ive enough keeping me awake in these uncertain times!

Made my last overpayment of January- £100- rounding the balance to £192,000 ! so happy to have made such a good start to 2021 overpayments. just hope we can keep it up.
Also paid £100 off loan- which now stands at £12,700, again done well this month on reducing this too 
The weather is rubbish- heavy rain- so its housework day today..

Cant believe £647 of overpayments made this month! a lot was from overtime in december worked by hubby and wont be every month, but still a fantastic start to 2021 debt reduction! and a few days less that the mortgage term will be reduced by..
Later i will be doing my February budget. With all the upheavel and my income not sorted yet, im doing a month by month budget, as planning ahead just stresses me out when im constantly chopping and changing.. when i think back to the years ive planned a year in advance, sometimes more, for spending and savings budget!!

You are doing so well especially as you only have a much reduced income coming in but im not surprised as you have consistently worked hard to get all your debts down over the years, .

Interest for January- £470.56
Daily = £15.17
New outstanding balance = £192,470.56
i kicked off Februarys payments with £70.56 this morning, now a nice rounded £192,400 balance! 
We have won £75 on the p.bonds today! yey! they are set to re-invest in new bonds, so a little extra in the emergency pot..
February will be tight financiallt, as not much  overtime for hubby, and our door decided to !!!!!! up, wouldnt lock, so emergency locksmith visit, had to use overpriced company ans no local locksmiths could attend, so £316 bill on c.card to clear this month too.. 
heavy snow again overnight, so im not going for my planned tesco shop today, ahh well, nowt spent!

The food shop can wait until tommorow, when i have to collect MIL prescription..
had a lazy hour catching up on threads after seeing to the furbabies..

oh, more snow!! its getting a bit tiresome now, and its freezing.. brrrr
best go out and sort the chunky horse, hubby is trying to saw some wood, horse is inching ever closer, dont want any more vets bills .. he is a nosy git

still freezing and snow covered! and its set to be minus 10 apparently in rural areas overnight! cant believe it..
Not a lot happening here at the moment due to cold weather, other than horsey has acquired a bad cough resulting in an £138 vet bill.. so along with bill for locksmith i think i can safely say no overpayments for february will be happening,, though i will do my best to at least make a token small overpayment.. oh well life throws crap at us sometimes, keep plodding on...and on.. lol

march 1st standard payment made, doubt i will be making any more payments this month due to extra costs of locksmith and vet bill, but at least paying the standard payment early will make a little saving in interest i suppose..
Its still white over and freezing here, but blue skys at the moment, please let the temperature pick up soon
