    Think you both have a great attitude - doesn't always work out but good to feel you're making the effort eh :)

    HAD to go to the dreaded SMs today but not too bad.
    HB = £ 11.91
    Fishmonger = £ 1.25 for big tub of Beef dripping (makes me laugh too) :rotfl:
    M&S £ 1.39 for lambs liver for tea (it's good)
    Mr T £ 20.52

    So total was £ 35.07 and have updated totals, but I did treat us to a Mr T / T Finest carrot cake on offer at £ 1.80 for tea on Sat and Sunday. Can't remember last time I bought cake but looks gorgeous. ;)

    Don't know where else to post this but Boo*s are giving a goodie bag away (meant to be worth £16) on any 2 x No 7 items !!

    Please stop raining soon

    Hi all, sorry for not posting I somewhat lost the plot/track a little with stuff that's been going on at home. I have no idea what our final spends were (new shoppi g mo th starts today) but we were under budget as there is £2-£3 left in the dedictated purse.

    So declaring us as under budget this month

    Will start a new post later on my work 'puter so that I can resize and colour the new budget

    I'm thinking that I might start up a savings pot (buttertub? Lol) to out the spare minies into so that we have some spare to spend on treats for Christmas..

    We also were going to count up how many Mr T vouchers we hace to see if we could put them towards getting in Chrimbo day meat this month but I can't find them.. will check online today but I'm starting to wonder if they were used for a burthday party or some such? Hmmm...

    Went to Mr M yesterday and bought fresh stuff, some more freezer bits (which I know are cheaper there than other places I go to), gerbil food and tank cleaner (they have cost me loads this week), toiletries, dairy free biscuits on special offer (not 'free from' stuff, just ordinary ones which happen to be dairy free) to take to people's houses when I visit. Spent £47.96, so got my voucher, but I'm already beginning to question whether it's going to be worth going there every week.

    I have a question for those with more experience than me. Imagine I arrive at the last week of the month with just enough money in the kitty to buy what I need for that week, but discover amazing offers on stuff I don't need right now, but will use over the following month - and I have some money from else where I could spend on it - is it better to stick to each month's budget (and so not buy said offers) or is it better to go over budget and buy them? Which saves most money long term? And should I then start again with the full budget the following month, or take off the overspend from the previous month? I appreciate I am fortunate to be able to do this when so many others would have no extra money to spend, but I am trying to work out which would save money long-term. It seems to defeat the point to set a budget but then happily overspend it each month!
    May spend - £291.40/£320.00
    June spend - £106.40/£320.00
