I know they won't be CHEAP but im looking for the CHEAPER phones with decent facebook, i.e I can use chat easily on them, compatible with snapchat would be good too. I've always been old school with my phones (had a nokia 3310 recently) but I'm joining the military soon and it would make me feel better about being away from friends and family if I can get on facebook easily when I get chance to use my phone

Any cheap Android phone will give you Facebook and snapchat. Just depends on how much you want to spend I guess.0

I think you need to have more of a think about what you actually want from your phone. What is your budget, and do you want a contract or PAYG? How big a screen do you want - a bigger screen is better for things like facebook, but a smaller one is probably better for using as an actual phone. Your best bet might be to start by going along to a phone shop (or even somewhere like Sainsburys) and have a look at the phones to see what they look like in real life, then find a few that you like and do a bit of research to find reviews and prices on the internet.
Edited to say - if it was me I'd probably start by looking at a Motorola Razri (we bought one for my DD earlier this year and it seemed like pretty good value for the money) or a Nexus 4 (probably going to get replaced by a Nexus 5 soon).0 -
hi guys,
After giving it some thought I'm going to struggle to find what I want. I've realised what I need is a phone with android, the version doesn't matter if Facebook runs well on it, though being compatible with snapchat would be nice. The problem is I can't stand touchscreen phones, I prefer a keypad (qwerty or normal) although having the option of using both would be fine.0 -
How about having a non-touchpad phone, nokia or similar, and getting a tablet maybe with a keypad cover for when you want to use facebook etc?

One other thought, whatever phone you get make sure it is unlocked. That way when you get posted to a foreign base you can buy a local SIM and put it in your phone.
Typically phones from Carphone Warehouse or Phones 4 U come unlocked.0 -
