PlusNet retention offer - 2 yrs at £6.49

Afternoon folks,
My half price deal with PlusNet has recently expired so I have been on the phone to them today to discuss options.
They have offered:
Plusnet Unlimited Broadband £6.49 per month on a 24month contract.
Line Rental £14.99 per month or £125.88 annually.
Talk Anytime Call plan £4.50
This seems OK, but still not as cheap as TalkTalk. Has anyone else been negotiating with them over the past few days - and is this the best deal they are offering retentions?

Do you really want to be tied into a 24m contract? No free lunch, and no free laptop0

if the price is good enough, yes - it is not as if I would ever want to not have a broadband service. As such, a longer deal at a good price locks in that price, which I would see as a good thing.Midas.0

What speed broadband ???0

They just offered me the same deal. I think the 24 months is too long though.0

You can always cancel next year or sooner when they increase their prices again if it's to your disadvantage!
The only possible fly in the ointment could be line rental saver and when it was paid.0 -
I've just accepted this offer, I think the £6.49p broadband deal is a good one even if it is for 2 years. I would suggest if like me you are not good with computers you accept, their call centre have managed to talk me through correcting a broadband problem on more than one occasion and that takes some doing with my limited knowledge.0

I'm revoking my recommendation for this tariff on principle, Plustnet now have a new one on offer through Uswitch of £7.99 a month for unlimited broadband and calls plus £14.50 line rental or £131.88 a year in advance.
I'm naively disappointed in Plusnet, another company who are more interested in attracting new customers than offering the best deals to their existing customers.0 -
Have you tried phoning PN retentions and asking for the "new" tariff? Often works.0

No I hadn't thought of phoning about the new tariff because I think it's only available to new customers signing on through Uswitch. I got the tariff I signed up to a few days ago by phoning Plusnet retentions, it wasn't available on any website.0 -

Could you really do this? I don't think it would work in my case even if it is usually possible.
I have Plusnet but I'm moving house. I have 5 options;
1) Pay £150 to have a line installed in new house
2) Pay £50 but extend my contract by 12 months on £9.99 deal
3) Pay nothing but extend my contract by 18 months on £9.99 deal
4) Pay nothing but extend my contract by 24 months on £6.49 deal
5) Leave early and pay them £50
I'm leaving them because they are utter !!!!. The net drops very frequently but only for a few seconds.... which means playing FIFA, Battlefield, Football Manager has constant losses and disconnections.
If I did choose number 4 though and come next year with the price increase I leave, would I be liable to pay for the line installation for leaving early?0
