Lasagne? Home made pizzas? Spanish chicken (chicken thighs, onions, peppers, chorizo, olive oil, oregano, paprika) Bake in the oven in one tray! The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0

Chicken stuffed with pesto, basil and wrapped in parma ham, mash potato and spinach.
Tastes amazing and also can look very presentable on the plate too0 -
Thanks for the replies, I probably should have mentioned that she doesn't like spicy food so think the chorizo may be out of the question. I really like the chicken pesto idea though!0

Just cut a large slit in the breasts, stuff a basil leaf in there, then spoon some pesto in, wrap the breasts in param ham or prosciutto (never get the names right), use cocktail sticks to seal them up. Cook for 20-25 mins on about 180c. Mash potatoes with lots of milk/butter and put some mustard in perhaps to give it an edge (it's not hot trust me), pan fry the spinach with butter until wilted.

Romantic food...IMO, go light on carbs....if its pasta or potatoes etc small portions! They make me feel full, and sleepy, not romantic!0

To be honest...a nice bowl of pasta and some salad and bread, a glass of wine and a simple pudding would be a very romantic gesture if cooked by the man I loved...
....and then of course he needs to do the washing up!
Simplicity that the key,it doesnt need to be fancy to be romanticfrugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

Poached salmon, new potatoes, coleslaw .. it's a simple one and really easy. A bit of tartar, or mayonnaise goes nice with it too. A little bit of descent salad could go well with it too (baby tomatoes, rocket, etc.)
It's nice, has flavour but isn't spicy. It's not wildly adventurous, but some people like that.
Follow with a nice desert.
Personally though, i like to make chicken fajitas for my wife0 -
lots of little bits you can eat with your fingers or can feed each other seafood is good so prawns mussels etc or
stuff that gets you messy like bbq chicken drumsticks and wings wait for her to get some sauce on her face and kiss it off or
something like a quiche or tart in a heart shape or
any nice meal that she likes but you feed it to her while she is wearing a blindfold or
big sharing plate of spaghetti and meatballs or
personally i think breakfast can be a really romantic meal if done right
remember to set the mood with non scented candles low lights etc and push the last meatball across to her with your nose
or you could make yourself into a naked sushi table!!!!The only people I have to answer to are my beautiful babies aged 8 and 50 -
Chicken, pancetta/lardons, Sacla red pepper pesto (sundried tomato will do as the other one's hard to find), mushrooms, red peppers optional, erm, that's about it. Add to plain spaghetti (mix altogether or serve on top). Usually add herbs to the mix, maybe just some oregano.
Delicious!
