  • The people at the reduced section at tesco know me by name and ask how my girls are :rotfl:

*they don't really.. but they may as well do!*

I'm the same at the ASDA "whoops" bargain section !

I save a packet on my food shop now !

I've perfected the art of knowing what times of the day to go, how to "get in there" when theres a crowd and strategic politeness/nudging etc . :D

It's a good time now because they re flogging off all their festive packaged stuff.
Proud to be dealing with my debts

When I was a kid we never had any money, one memory was doing my homework next to gas oven with the door open as this was the only light in the house cos the Electric had been cut off!! When we did have electric we would only had one bulb and would have to take it from room to room!

We had to use old clean rags as sanitary towels and pin them underneath.

My mum would sneak me on the bus and and make me curl up and pretend to be asleep so she would get away with paying a kids fare.

Use to "borrow" next doors milk and blame it on the bad kids in the area!

Checking down the back of the sofa for coppers.

We couldn't afford a fridge so had an insulated wooden box for milk.
  • I went down to the bank today and paid in the change from my purse and two bags of hastily scrabbled together coppers as I'm three quid short in my account to cover my phone bill DD on Tuesday, don't think the ebay money is going to make it by then! They gave me some funny looks!

Ouch! Is that on top of their 170% interest?
I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.
