    Don't forget north Pembrokeshire! :)

We're more 'Welsh' here, but with that comes friendliness, real community spirit and low, low crime rates.

The coast and scenery aren't bad either ;) and you could even get a sea view for your £80K. :)

I haven't forgotten N Pembs - super area. :A However, one doesn't need to be more (or less) Welsh to obtain low crime rates. Even in England, in places where maybe half the population are incomers, it's possible to find areas where crime is low and community spirit abounds.

It's like that in Mid-Devon, away from the obvious magnets the rest of the county waves in the direction of retirees. The key is what draws people here. The loud and brash, or those whose involvement is second home-related, probably see this as a dull old spot. That's good! ;)

Not much going at £80k, though. :(

And the one thing we've forgotten to ask the OP (unless I didn't pay attention:o) is whether she drives. Makes a major difference in rural areas.

I love 'dull' too - when the most talked about topic of the week is someone getting a hefty fine for the late return of a library book - you tend to feel a long way from the world's troubles. :D

I cant get a mortgage but have 100k. I need to keep some for a rainy day so have a budget of 80k.

I can move anywhere as not committed to anywhere with work I can do my work wherever.

Can you get a 'nice' 2 bed for that amount of money. ie nice area, and no work needed doing.???

Where I live you cant buy a shed for that money.

Im quite excited at starting my life again, but simply dont know where to look??

Any ideas anyone? any links? Can it be done?

Bit background, Im 45 divorced but want to start a new life, countryside would be nice but open to any ideas.

    Thanks!:)

Try somewhere remote in Wales or Scotland.
