best dishwasher tablets?

Options
I've tried a few brands, but I go back to quantum every time as nothing else seems to remove tea stains.
I got the reqular finish last time as they were on offer, but my mugs are getting stained:(
Do I have to keep shelling out for quantum?
I use extra salt & rinse aid too, but cheap brands.

Lidl tablets came out best in Dutch consumer tests. I use them and they are great.
  • I cook/bake A LOT so lots of pans and we only ever use Sainsburys basics dishwasher tablets and it's not very often we have to rewash anything x

fairy.. nothing else washes properly and the finish and Tesco ones just clog up my dishwasher unless I run every wash at really high temp.

Remember to wash every so often on a hot wash, use salt (if in a hard water area, regardless of whether you have a 3-in-1 tablet) and buy a dishwasher cleaner once in a while.

The better running your dishwasher, the better it will wash the dishes whichever tablet you chose. I buy cheap/offers for everything but keep it clean.

Wilko's Basics work just fine. Agree with cleaning the washer itself, usually run a full hot wash with a mug full of vinegar. Seems to do the trick.

The left field suggestion is to tackle it from the other end. I use filtered water in the kettle and don't get tea stains in the mugs - then any dishwasher tabs work. The savings available by using cheap tabs or those on offer has paid for the filter jug and once a month filter (I get these once a year when they are on offer too). The Consumer Association have ranked Fairy and Aldi tabs best if you don't want to change.
