I use lidl tablets and all of the tea stains etc come off everything I put in.PAYDBX 2016 #55 100% paid! :j Officially bad debt free...don't count my mortgage.

I am using costco's own brand at the moment, and they work well. Usually I use Daisy from Tesco.
Is it just tea stains that are a problem? If that's the case, since we all see, to do OK with cheap ones, is it maybe the tea brand causing the stains? Or maybe the dishwasher needs a cleaner run through it?0 -

I use a few brands of tea.
I will give the dishwasher a clean through, I have special sachets to do that.0 -
Assuming you run it once a day, run the rinse cycle to stop the stains drying in (say after breakfast or lunch). Water and energy usage to do that is minimal.
Clean the filter, spray arms and door seals manually. No sachet will do that.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Aldis do 2 kinds of dishwasher tablets - slightly dearer ones are Which recomended but I use their cheaper ones and wont go past them...I also think it depends on the kind of dishwasher and what kind of dishes you wash. We cook from scratch so its all pans and casserole dishes. My first one (from Freecycle!) was a Philips one and I tried every kind of tablet from Asda smart price upwards - ended up having to use Fairy all the time. Then it died and I got another one (Freecycle again! love that site!) and its a Bosch one and the Aldis ones are great it in it. Works out at 5p per wash which I am happy with.Kondo'ed 76 items from wardrobe, 4 carrier bags of books0

Hi we bought astonish and they seem pretty good .They were 2.99 for 42.
If you use a little bleach in the water and soak the cups they come up pretty clean.0 -
I use dishwasher powder - very moneysaving as you can put in the amount you need! About 2 teaspoonsful does fine for me. For persistent tea stains, I'd try rinsing the cups before putting them in the machine if you can be bothered!0

fairy Platinum has come top in the latest Which? dishwasher tablet tests, with Finish Powerball Classic tablets a close second.
Fairy Platinum got higher marks for cleaning overall, while the Finish tablets were slightly better at preventing watermarks and keeping dishes shiny.
Three other tablets were rated as Best Buys in the test, with one costing just 10p per wash.
You can see the full results from the test and read more about how we carried it out in our dishwasher tablet reviews or by reading the March issue of Which? magazine.
That was for 2012.0
