Not offended at all, mostly frustrated as this one was pretty much a casual/temp job to cover the Christmas period and met my ideal criteria of being not retail, as I suspect (me+busy Christmas crowds) x rude customers= me losing my temper and getting sacked. But I'll start applying for retail stuff this week and next.
I'm a little annoyed at the manager I emailed last week who said they'd other vacancies after the one I applied for was already filled who has since said that they actually have nothing at the moment but will keep my details on file. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

That sounds like someone you wouldn't want to work for to be honest. If they lie to you about that then what else would they twist around. Bloody annoying though.
Yeah, I think I am going to nosey into retail work for OH. Even just stocking shelves or something would be good. We know our tescimos pretty well (we go up and down the ailses enough). And a wee discount wouldn't be sniffed at.
Hope you get it sorted soon. Let me know how it all goes. (I do read your thread but I am sometimes a bit too chicken to reply so I just read and occassionally click "thanks", I promise I am reading it though).

TBH even if they only have casual work over Christmas I'd like to work there as its the same company I worked for down south so would carry over some of the company benefits. But if I'm going to apply for casual work I'll keep an eye on the company recruitment page as they do sometimes have short term stuff on there. Don't be afraid to post its nice to see the other thoughts. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Evening all,
I'm up way past my bedtime as I've been out visiting a friend
You could have added me stewby I wouldn't have minded (need all the encouragement I can get!) but I'm on there now (number 11)
I totalled your NOvember total to be £185 too
I think the NOvember is do able but may struggle with 25 SFDs and going our only once! I have 2 events planned on the same day and cannot turn them down but will turn down everything else
Good luck with the job hunt scubaangelLBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Good evening everybody.
Worked hard for the whole day and am now off until Friday. Feeling a bit gutted as they haven't managed to get me onto the "bank" so my extra shifts that I have worked won't be paid until next month.
I don't know if that means I have now failed the making £100 extra in the month. Will have to ask NSK.
:undecided
Have been a bit OCD and made a calendar so that we can pick out our spend days. (we need to plan very carefully to achieve this challenge).
Have also made a weekly planner which has a section at the bottom for our shopping list, maximum of 14 things.
The organisational part of my brain is loving this planning malarky. It's whether or not I can stick to it.Mortgage: £0/£80,329.91

Morning,
Wow that sounds very organised! I reckon 25 SFDs is going to be really difficult as I do a weekly shop plus usually one top up for bread in the week.
Yay that you are off until Friday. What are you going to do with your time? I think I'm going to start my de clutter today and find at least 20 items for the charity shopNSKs words have been going round in my head for the last 24 hours. I always hold onto things, just in case, when really other people might need them (and realistically my just in case scenario will never happen!)
I wanted to do baking today but I'm really trying with my diet this week so won't be baking for a whileLBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

My diet has gone out of the window just now as I am experimenting with baking and really enjoying it.
It is also saving me money as normally I would go out and buy a packet of biscuits which cost say £2.00... but instead I am buying extra butter (flour, chocolate powder and sugar are staples in my kitchen) for about £3.00 and getting three batches of biscuits out of it. So it is going well... I think.
Anyways... Good evening everybody.
Today has been a spendy day. I took my mum to arguz and as a result ended up in the nearby eisland and hoosie bargains. Eisland is amaizng for bargains. Got heaps of stuff... even got some house cleaning stuff that was only £1. the joke of it was their were selling the exact same thing but with 31mls extra for £2. Nah, it's fine. I will get the 469ml bottle thanks.
Today is batch cooking day. The plan is to make cheese and bacon pasta bake (bought sauce for £1.00 today and already have the pasta). Macaroni cheese (mum handed me a jar of sauce she bought the other day as she wants me to make more mac cheese). The other thing to make is lasagne... again, mum has handed me the ingredients for lasagne as she wants me to make more.
I made bought all the ingredients for the last lot and mum has decided that we will take it in turns to buy the ingredients and I will make it each time.
Heading to tescimos soon as am going to attempt to swoop in on the yellow labels. I have failed at this every time except once where I got a brilliant deal on fresh meats so I am hoping to do the same again. (someone on another thread said 18:00 is the best time to go so fingers crossed).
Hope everyone is having a lovely day.

Good luck at tescimos, let us know how it goes. I never manage to get many yellow stickered items. Most of the stuff in Asd4 seems to meat that has turned a weird colour or ready meals that are not very good value
Tomorrow I am going to go to Ald! in preparation for the NOvember challenge. My money totals started on 25th so if I get food tomorrow, the money counts in my totals for November but the spends day doesn't count as its still OctoberLBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Ah, good plan fmess.
Tescimos was not a fantastic success. I have had better. I got half a chicken (which I have never seen yellow-labelled before) and some tuna steaks for the OH. I was hoping for mince.
We then went to morries... which is fast becoming my favourite shop for meat. We got some ribs cheap, some hot n spicy pork chops and a couple of other bits (including a full price sirloin steak as a present for my dad) and the bill was only £11. Which is brilliant!!
:j
Tescimos came to £13 but that included some 00 flour, some strong white flour and some yeast. I am going to attempt to make some bread rolls this week.
So that means that (providing I stick to a spend free day tomorrow) I have saved £6 this month!!
Add that on to my pennies that I have left over and I have £6!! This is because my moneys went on buying some euros for my holidays.
I now have £200 worth of euros and will be using £150 of this month's £400 to buy some more.
I know it is a lot of money but I have read up a lot on disneyland paris and know that buying food is really expensive and we will also be having drinkies and buying souveniers. So I think the £350 that I have "saved" plus the £100 that I got from my parents will be about 500 euros which works out at 100 euros for the kitty to begin with and then 400 euros to buy stuff with or use to go on a tour of paris, top up the kitty, etc.
I feel a bit guilty as I know it is a lot of money but this is my only holiday of this year and I don't want to be sitting there watching my pennies whilst my cousin is splashing her cash around.
I know it's not really debt-busting but it kinda is... as otherwise, I would be putting the stuff on my card or borrowing from my parents.
I am still giving my dad £50 off this month's money and putting £15 in the "holiday" pot.
On the plus side!! OH has been spending yesterday putting old dvds, cds and games into music magpie. (ones from when my S-I_L moved in with my brother and when OH moved in with me, also ones that my parents don't want anymore) and he is going to make £30 from it!!
:j
And he has agreed to put it in the "holiday" pot too. It's all slowly adding up.Mortgage: £0/£80,329.91

Night shift threw me a bit. Completely different to my normal nightshifts at the big hospital.
However, I made a loaf of bread and a rustic cob (only had one tin) and they turned out pretty well. Gave my mum a taste and she has come back from her "friday flea cup" with some more yeast and some more strong white flour as she wants me to make her a loaf too. (woohoo, free yeast and flour).
:rotfl:
Not really done anything to day but might attempt something else bakey. I am really enjoying baking and learning to cook. Hopefully I can get on to baking something a bit more useful such as chicken or stuff.
:undecided
Hope everyone is having a great day.
